Budget for players

Andy .

Recommended Posts

i know is small but there seems to be very little going on at the club or the usual will we be the last one`s to find out . When you look through the websites of other Ryman clubs there is alot of transfers going through or have already happened even the red side are picking up players as stated in todays local .

Im sure Terry is working hard to bring in new players but i hope we don`t end up with players that no other clubs want . I see Hasim Deen has joined Sutton , good player in my book , should have stayed with us .

How many players are you expecting TY to sign then Andy ?

I would envisage clubs at all levels having smaller squads over the next few years

Assuming those on the retained list sign (and i anticipate some will leave but hope i am wrong ) thats a full squad anyway.

I do agree that it would be good to have confirmation that those on the retained list have actually signed as being retained and actually signing are two entirely different things

Add in Mullins if it is correct that he has re-signed,plus lewis and we have in theory already got 15 players, plus possibly Louis Smith.

Thats pretty good for early June i would have thought.

It seems TY was after sam Jones and a striker and thats about it.

Do we actually need any more at this stage ?

personally, i think definately need a quality central midfield player, but all things considered it looks to me that we are miles ahead of where we have been in previous seasons.

Stll over a month until the first friendlies and maybe one or two triallists, but there are only so many players you can have ;and as i say we already have (in theory ) 15/16.

Despite KP's correct insistence that we would retain premiership status, i'm sure a few players TY has spoken to ,were waiting for the definitive outcome on that

If i recall correctly, this time last year, we had 5 players and had only just appointed a manager

agree with you over the miles ahead MM but i expect Terry to add another 3 to that , we need an experienced spine to the team , we have Pat on board and Ben Lewis but we need another 3 to fill the positions needed , thats 1 midfielder one at the back and a 20 plus a season striker , and with players of quality being snapped up quick i was just wondering what was going on . Hope this answers your questions . The lads we have are capable of alot now as we know but with only one yrs experience at Ryman Prem level the spine is the most important piece and with the lads we have it will be great to slot them around some lads with a good level of football behind them .

Agree the spine is the key-and like you, hope that whilst TY has made it clear he wants a striker, that he also sees the need for some extra quality and experience in central midfield.

Spot on SSS. And how on earth some of our players feel they warranted a pay rise after last season is beyond me. Despite what others may say, the table doesn't lie, and we were the 4th worst team in the league. Hardly supports demands for a pay rise!

Mind you, have heard what Faversham offered a certain ex-Gate player, and it certainly wasn't too bad for a Kent League side (I assume they are still at that level?). Don't know who's bankrolling them!

Point is, did the "certain ex-gate player" take the offer?

If not why not and, like many other examples of job hunting in real life, is it just a story to get the money up elsewhere?

Not forgetting - from whom did you hear the offer that was made, Faversham FC or the player?

Whilst I would like to see any working person improve their lot, there has to be a degree of realism, especially at this time. As my mum used to say, you can't get blood out of a stone!
