A summary of where TY 'is at'

For any 'exiles`like myself , thisting for news on the playing front, here is a recent article.

Most have probably seen anyway and nothing really new here' as it was always said that prorities were goalkeeper and striker (although two weeks ago in another article, i believe TY said he was also still also talking to Mullins over the goalkeeping position for next season )

Maybe the local papers will have some update this week.

Agree that goalkeeper and striker are the main positions, (not so sure about a wide midfield player/winger like Jones myself) but i would add that somehow,Funds need to be found for a experienced central midfield player.Wilson -aided by stubbs can't do it all on their own-and is it any coincidence; that one of the best mini runs we had was when Paul Smith made a few consecutive appearances and pulled the team together from midfield. Most of the game goes through central midfield so thats where you need to be strongest.

It looks as though there won't be too many signings either way, although i anticipate there being more needed than currently alluded to, as i suspect that unfortunately, not all on the retained registration list will end up re-signing for next season.

Yep-am aware that he has/can play there-and obviously we do not know where TY plans to play him.

I just wonder whether whilst they are doing ok,Wheatley,Robinson,Haverson and Young (IF the latter two sign ) have between them quite enough experience/physicality at the back and we need Lewis to give some brute force at the back, and thus need an experienced and very good CENTRAL midfield player ? .

As it stands-we just have Wilson, ably assisted by stubbs in central midfield and with injuries/suspensions let alone my feeling that we need just that bit of extra quality and a hardened battler,i hope TY will be looking to strengthen central midfield.

As you know, wide midfield players/wingewrs don't do it for me as they swan down the wing and then either can't put a cross in and fall over-or at this level, there is rarely the quality of striker available to finish off a good cross-and most games are won/lost through the middle of the park;so you need to 'play the percentages'and what works most often

Looks promising otherwise though
