Carl Taylor leaves Burnham - Jarvis to take over?

No question mark about it. Jarvis named manager on the Burnham website with Peter Scott as assistant, and no doubt most of the SYCOB squad to follow.

One has to wonder though why Jarvis has gone to Burnham. Their crowds aren't a whole lot better off than Beaconsfield and I'd have thought off their two successful seasons at SYCOB, they would be aiming at a job at a higher level. I fully expect Burnham to have a good season though and be challengers for the playoffs

Hence what Sliski said about Totton having their part to play. That said, the SYCOB forum tends to be used by their players, rather than the mass ranks of their travelling supporters, and so the views highlighting Totten Fans as aggressors in the situation may offer a rather skewed version of events.

Taken from the FA's site

"Jamie Jarvis, Manager, Beaconsfield SYCOB

AFC Totton V Beaconsfield SYCOB FC

Southern League Division 1 South & West, 17 February 2009

Charge: FA Rule E3 - improper conduct

Jarvis has admitted the charge and requested a non-personal hearing."

And this was prior to the incident stated above.

wow, you guys like to have a dig at Jarvo at every opportunity! Now I know I'm a Windsor fan posting on a Slough forum, but I would like to wish Jarvo all the best. I think a great appointment by Burnham. No one can knock Jarvo's management record so far and his commitment to the game locally. He won the triple in his first season, and on a shoestring budget he got a committed group of local players and reached the playoffs - a lot of lessons could be learnt there. I think they'll be up there next year in your division. Who knows what happened at Totton, Totton will say one thing, Beaconsfield another, none of us will probably ever know, but hey isn't going effect us. I wish Jarvo all the best in his job.

I must admit I don't particually like Jarvis, but he aint done too much wrong against us and I struggle to see the dislike some of you have. I can think of far more players that have 'wound us up' more than Jamie Jarvis...

Nobody has said anything in disagreement of this

Craig O'Connor and Mark Nicholls are not players one would normally associate with a shoestring budget

Agreed. I presume therefore you openly criticised Mr Scott for attempting to sign Matthew Platt from Slough at the end of last season, and have been critical of the signing of Rowan Vine.

I'm pretty sure I said Burnham would have a very good season with Jarvis at the helm

Not too sure about the 'shoestring budget'.

Without knowing the details, I personally think they were paying their 'committed group of local players' more than most people think. I only base this upon our tenancy at Beaconsfield being worth approx. 30/40k to them and they are now pleading poverty and having to reduce their budget for the coming season.
