AFC Dons & Plough Lane

There are a few stories in the press today about the real dons possibly moving back to plough lane.... is this possible?

It still stands I believe but now overgrown. They used it a few times for filming footy scenes. Will do some digging..

Bring back memories. Stood on those terraces when the Real Dons played in Southern League & Division 4.

I go further back.. first went there in 1967 to watch Romford

I think that the move would actually be to the greyhound stadium, although the grassed area in the middle is too small for a football pitch

TBH even if the ground is like this now im sure some hard work could be done by the fans should they ever secure a move back there to clear up. And if i Remember rightly wasnt the old valley like this until Charlton got the move back there and the fans cleared the mess up and etc to pave way for redevelopment.

Just been told the above ground has been redeveloped, so if anywhere it would be the greyhound/speedway stadium further down Plough Lane.

They are looking at redevelopiny the greyhound stadium, or thats what it says in your favorite paper The Mail..........

Fingers crossed this dream can become a reality, would be great for the true Dons supporters. Went to the Fans United day v Nottingham Forest a few years ago at Selhurst Park, really felt for their fans that day.

Speedway has not been staged there for a few years now as the stadium owners wont give a lease that covered evev a season as they are trying to redevelope the site like so many other sporting venues.
