Bethnal Green United, who have just won the Middlesex County League, are looking for away friendlies for the following dates. clubs from Steps 6, 5 or 4.

 

July 21st, 25th and 28th, August 1st and 8th.

It is the old Step 7 to Step 5 thingy. Should do if they have a ground good enough, but as in Kent, Essex suffers from having no buffer zone between the aforementioned Steps.

Read it another way you silly old twonk. The statement was relating as to whether the ground would be good enough, coz it fails on a few counts to stay in Step 5 at the moment.. so there..

What counts are those then, I guess a lack of bar facilities is classed as a failure in your book.

I'm afraid Rhodes that in my book a strong social atmosphere at the ground of a senior (ie Step 1-5) club is the bedrock on which the said club survives. I'm sorry but as nice as the people that play at MES and LMS are that is no substitute for a good mingling and gossip after the game.

 

Reminds me of my old days in local football namely - Arrive, put up nets, change into kit, play the game, change out of kit, pay the ref, take down the nets, go home.

 

THAT AIN'T SENIOR NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL!
