Oh bugger it!! Thought the loads of games local to me last year was too good to last. How the $%^& is this a midlands division? Why not just call it east and west, as with very few exceptions that is what we have. Bromsgrove now nearest at about 35 miles, then Stourport at about 50 miles. Happy now Warren?! My influence with the lge no longer there!!! As said before quite a lot of travelling in this one, though for us quite a few local as well. Stupid really, how long will it take Stourport to get to Soham and Bury for flips sake, thought reorganisation was meant to keep clubs local and safe costs.

Mixed emotions about the transfer really.

On the plus side be nice to play some teams with history against the Rebels i.e. Bromsgrove, Aylesbury and Chesham. Also will be nice to visit some new grounds. I don't think travelling wise it too much different, although some places will be a pain in the neck to get to, but no worse that Taunton or Truro.

On the negative side we know very little about the teams in this league, and i'd say we'd just about learnt what the South & West was all about - well organised teams, nothing spectacular but solid and difficult to break down. We certainally found that league to be much more difficult than the Ryman equivalent when we were in it a few years back.

I'd expect the midland to be pretty similar really, won't be easy but if we get in some quality players hopefully we can do well.

Oh and just hope we don't get Barton Rovers away near the end of the season, when we played them in the Ryman there was harly a blade of grass on the pitch!

Sorry guys, but the move is perfect for me -

Sutton Coldfield/Romulus - 20 miles, Bedworth and Atherstone - 17 miles, Bromsgrove and Stourport relatively close ....

No excuses for me for the coming season!!

Oh, and you are all most heartily welcome to stop in Ashby de la Zouch for a beer/McDonalds/pizza after any of the games up here.......

Frankly I'm really looking forward to it. Loads and loads of new grounds to visit, and a reunion with clubs like Aylesbury and Bromsgrove, who we last played when in the Conference.

I'm not convinced that the change of league will be to our detriment, particularly if Bates can get together a good team, which I think he will, and can draw on the experience of previous campaigns in both the Midland and Premier divisions.

The other thing is that three of the better teams from last season's Midlands league are now gone (Leamington and Nuneaton promoted, Chasetown shifted), so who knows, the league might not be as strong and we might have a good chance ourselves.

The excellent transport links that Slough has is either a blessing or a curse depending on how you look at it. We're situated pretty close to three league boundaries now, so chopping and changing will become the norm I feel. And you can't say supporting Slough is boring when in the last few years we've been in the same leagues as teams from Essex, Kent, everything in between all the way to Somerset and Cornwall, and now the midlands and Suffolk.

I would have liked to retain the derby with Windsor, but as others have said, we'll probably draw them in one of the cups anyway!

I've seen it suggested that Atherstone may yet be moved to NLP Div 1 South, as a team in the Unibond Premier is in trouble. If that were the case, then all of the top 4 teams from this division last season would no longer be in the league.

Although there are less overall miles to be traveled this comming year 1338 miles compared to last years 1463 miles, there are more trips over 85 miles, 10 compared to 6.

The Truro, Taunton, Bridgewater and Paulton games (778 miles) made up over half of the total on there own! This year there are less very long trips and more long trips.

is this a ploy of the tenants of lower slough to get us more northerly , will we need whippetts and flat caps for next season, will the new ground have to have a pigeon loft to get league status, i for one am extremely unhappy about our move to the midland, so it looks like there will be more chores for me in the coming season.

This is a disaster for me and my dad. He moved to the west country 5 years ago and we thoroughly enjoyed our trips to cinderford, cirencester, bishops cleeve, paulton rovers and andover. we couldn't make bridwater or taunton. We were delighted when yate, & mangotsfield got relegated and even frome got promoted so to say we are both gutted is an understatement, especially as Bracknell have been reprieved and stay in that division.

The old fella could have seen his beloved Slough another 10 times at least, now he'll be lucky to see them at all.

Send my regards to the FA.!!!!!

Expect some very tough games even though my club, Leamington, who won the league by a mile, and Nuneaton Town (reformed Nuneaton Borough from the Conference) and Chasetown are no longer in the league.

In all honesty, the Midlands clubs has always been tougher than their South West counterparts.
