MK James
Indeed. I had heard a rumour about Vale calling it a day but just brushed it off as the sort of tittle-tattle that gets put on here. Obviously I don't know the ins and outs of United's refusal to get involved, but from the ouside looking in it's baffling. How much can that once great club stay outside of town? Rhodes
The new Club appear to be coming together slowly but surely according to the Non League Today Website, they could be dark horses next season: http://www.nonleaguedaily.com/news/index.php?&newsmode=FULL&nid=58672
Rhodes
A couple of interesting links on Aylesbury FC from the Bucks Herald if anybody is interested, they could well be a force to be reckoned with this season: http://www.bucksherald.co.uk/sport/Aylesbury-FC-Vice-chairman-Martone.5329234.jp http://www.bucksherald.co.uk/sport/Former-Duck-Matt-Hayward-joins.5360886.jp
Scottie_DTFC
They certainly will be a force this season and with our old chairman at the helm of AFC it will definitely spice up our fixtures with them.
Rhodes
I think the Championship will be fought out between the two Buckinghamshire Club's this season, Aylesbury FC and Chalfont St Peter with Royston Town and Harefield United running them close, the two relegated Step 4 Club's will be unknown quantities until a ball is kicked in anger at 3.00pm on 8 August. onekeown
Heard Chalfont manager was sacked at the end of last season, can you confirm that Rhodes? OneKeown - As far as I'm aware Danny Edwards is still at Mill Meadow, I think if he had been sacked following the Club's excellent FA Vase run it would have been posted on here

onekeown
You know what happened to the last bloke who thought he had it all wrapped up by easter. They crucified him!
Rhodes
OneKeown - Why are you and NeutralFan so convinced that Aylesbury FC won't run away with the Premier Division Championship this season, I await your answer with interest.
onekeown
Before we do, how about you putting forward their case for running away with it.
Rhodes
OneKeown - How long have you got, it's not rocket science as Matt Hayward is an excellent, well contacted player coach and the partnership with Manager Mark Eaton will be a force to be reckoned with. Hayward was head hunted by Aylesbury United and although he surprisingly opted for Haywood Way he is still very well contacted at United and, as understand it, plans to duel register a number of players. Your turn.

Your turn. I hope you mean "dual" ! The revised FA Model Rules now give leagues the following option(s) in order to protect clubs against rivals fielding loads of "dual registered" higher league players: © A team shall not include any player/more than __[choose your number]_______ players who has/have taken part in any ____[e.g. Ryman league, Southern League]____________or more senior competition matches during the current season unless a period of ____[choose your preferred number]_____ days has elapsed since they played. I have no idea whether the SSMFL have taken advantage of this change - it is optional. What do you think?
Scottie_DTFC
This is a few weeks old now, but they claim that 10 have left Step 4 United to turn out for Step 5 FC. http://www.bucksherald.co.uk/sport/Ducks-exodus-begins-as-10.5438478.jp
