Ian - Might I suggest that Bethnal Green United are given their own Forum for next season in the Essex Senior League, they will be a welcome addition and there will be a huge amount of interest in the Club both on and off the field of play as well as their colourful Coach GAFFA1.

If they ARE coming into the ESL I expect that Ian has to wait until their acceptance is ratified at the league's AGM before he can add a forum for them and don't they have to make the request themselves through an official spokesman!

anyone can have a forum offical or otherwise.... problem is little point in having forums if no-one is going to use them.

I also do not want forums that just descend into threads of nonsense.

Ian,

Completely understood, however, forums are started for the best intentions and the moderators have to be vigilant and on top of their game to make sure that the "nonsense" does not get out of hand. In the 3 years or so that I have moderated the Basildon United forum, I have only had to delete one comment (thankfully it was a late at night one) because it was a nasty jibe. No-one was outraged, no-one complained, it was dealt with.

If forums or is it fora, are requested, you must allow them and then give them a reasonable time to become established. If they do not meet your traffic requirements within a specified time period, then pull them, but at least give them a chance to succeed or to fail!

We have "spoken" privately on this and hope that you will give at least one of my requests the light of day. If it (they) fail, it (they) fail but it won't be for the want of trying!

Judging by that comment, one presumes that your burger-flipping talents are not wanted by the Purple Helmets next season then?

You really need to improve on your football officialdom skills as you don't seem to last long anywhere. I bet the ESL bods will give you short shrift next season.. if you last that long.. wink

Please do not get me wrong - I am more than willing to set up and forum - but as a general rule if no-one has posted anything in say 6 - 9 months then they are unlikely to start.

Requested forums should hopefully be set-up today.
