Everyone to their own That is why I have always kept it optional. Of course you lose the other items in that column, but hopefully soon you will be able to pick and chose what to display in the columns.

I think everything seems to be OK at the moment.

 

I took advice where necessary, thumped the lap top, switched it on and off, couldn't find the IE box thingy, but can now see the threads as before.

 

If anything else goes wrong, then I will ask for more advice.
