Being an involved fan can be about more than just handing over money. It can be about scrutinising those in charge, asking difficult questions and putting pressure on them when appropriate. No one else will do it. Unfortunately most local papers don't have the manpower to devote their time to that kind of in-depth coverage. Fans being more 'uppity' might have helped to prevent Weymouth's recent problems, for example.

I understand what you say CE, but when KP had an open forum last season those stating things on here re the club, him etc were conspicuous by their absence.

Oh I wonder why? Oh yes that's right, when you get the opportunity to speak to them if it's not concurring with their views (whatever they might be) it ends up with five of them questioning you rather than the other way round. Remember some people have been intimidated out of supporting the club so unless the question is "how fantastic is the board?' it's not worth bothering.

I understand yours was a different situation Hornet and one I feel guilty about as they overheard me calling Jane to meet you I think? I do feel that you were unfairly treated on what is after all an unofficial forum. I really do hope that one day we will see you back at the club you love and belong.
