Chalftont U18 2-1 Slough Town U18 - Result Champs!

After an even opening, Slough Town took the lead through top scorer Stan Mugisha who broke through the offside trap and rounded the keeper to roll the ball into an empty net despite the attempts of two defenders chasing back.

 

The two sides have since exchanged chances with glancing headers at either end doing little to trouble the respective keepers.

 

Backed by a healthy contingent of Rebels supporters, Slough are looking lively and well up for this.

 

Long free kick from the right back position from Jamie Earis takes a high bounce in front of the home keeper who reacts well to tip the ball over the bar.

 

Twenty five minutes gone and the way things stand, Chalfont will have to score four to secure the title.

Penalty shout for the home side as Hicks leaps over one of the home players on the edge of the area, but the ref isn't interested.

Chalfont have come back into the game and have had a good spell of pressure but haven't found the target yet. Bulle has had a good chance to extend Slough's lead but his hooked effort with the keeper grounded went wide.

Chalfont got the early break through they wanted in the second half with a near post header within a minute of the restart. They're fired up for this and Slough haven't come out of the blocks yet.

Tullett has to tip over a long free kick as Chalfont press forward looking for the goals they need.

 

Tullett came to challenge at the edge of the area and palmed the ball away under pressure. The ball fell to a Chalfont midfielder who appeared to slice the ball, but it fell nicely inside the corner of the goal with Tullett chasing back to no avail.

 

Mo Shariff has a run cutting inside from the left and tries a lob from 25 yards, but teh ball is over.

Ball nearly breaks in the middle for Riaz, but the keeper is out quickly and blocks with his legs.

Mugisha breaks through down the right hand side, showing good strength and pace to hold off the defender, but his touch approaching the keeper is too hard and the keeper is able to close down and get something on the ball.

 

Chalfont go down the other end and a back post cross meets a Chalfont player with a bit of space to cut back inside and brings a save from Tullett and Hicks covers round the back to hook the ball away.

Series of corners for the home side comes to nothing as Slough just about clear their lines.

Stan breaks through level with the left hand post and shoots low across goal and inches wide.

Tullett miscues his kick to a bouncing ball and loses out to the forward. The Chalfont player is forced wide though and when he is ready to shoot, Slough have recovered and block the shot.

Shariff fires one in across goal from 20 yards as Slough put their foot on the ball and play a bit. Ball goes comfortably wide.

Good block on a Shariff shot and then a good tackle on Mugisha on the edge of the 18 yard box as Slough start to find some gaps. We're into injury time now....

Slough break and with the keeper well out of his goal, Makh attempts an ambitious long range effort, but drags his shot wide.

Shariff breaks in down the left flank and sees his first effort cleared off the line and his second go just wide.

Late corner for Chalfont. The keeper goes up, but Slough clear.

Chalfont win another free kick and the keeper stays up. The ball then falls to him and his shot rebounds off the post.

Despite the loss, Slough are champions.
