Game Leaves

Perhaps they're too embarrassed to announce it?

I'm totally shocked, surely after the time he has been out of the game, he must re-establish himself at Ryman premier level before taking this opportunity to test himself at a higher level. He must have some guilt in leaving so soon after coming back, especially after the on and off field support he seemed to have all through he's injury lay off, and more recently during he's last few come back appearances.

Any way [with tongue firmly in cheek] good luck to the lad, or as they say in theatre land BREAK A LEG [oops!]

I can't believe how he has turned his back on the club, but being honest,

it might be a blessing in disguise for us. Paying his wages for the near

2 years he was out is the gutter. But I would have thought that he was on

a fair wack and it my allow Brian to bring in one or two younger, fitter players.

With Jamies experience and graft I would like to see a youngster come in that

has the ability to pass the ball "on the floor". Don't ask me who, but Matt is

the past. Hopefully we can build a winning team that is also pleasing to watch. That should get a few more on the Gate!

Still nothing official regarding Game signing for Braintree as far as I can see. This quote from the TotalEssex web-site though:-

Quote:
"It's understood that one of the experienced players expected to sign on at Cressing Road is midfielder Matt Game who has spent the last five seasons at Billericay Town.

His recruitment might appear to be a bit of a gamble as the midfielder, who joined Billericay from Leyton Orient in 2004, was out for most of last season with a broken leg.

He regained fitness and was able to play in a handful of first team matches for the New Lodge club in the last month of the season, mainly coming on as a substitute.

It gets more bizzarre by the second.

Now Broomy's signing someone he couldn't manage at our place. Next you'll be telling me he's trying to sign someone he transfer listed twice or sign up the reserve and youth teams!!

In all seriousness though Big Dunc was a free agent, we released him, he's a good player and good luck to him at Braintree. No need to add to the previous comments re Gameo.

As you say, it really is bizzarre, there will be a fee to pay as well!!
But I really hope it doesn't come to that, we're doing everything we can to keep him.

We should only keep him if he wants to be here. If you manage to open his eyes to the benefits of staying at 'ricay, that's great. But if his heart isn't in it he should go, in my opinion.

Agreed, it's all very well having technicaly good players, but if their head and hearts not in it then it's unlikely the player would give you the performaces of say a lesser skilled player who wants to be there imo.

Either way with the signings that Brian has made so far I don't think we'll have a problem next season with "lesser skilled players".

Just a quick question. If the above player didnt sign forms with Braintree until after his 24th birthday would you be entitled to any fee.

It depends when his birthday is. FA rule C1J(ii) states:

There shall be no right to a compensation or transfer fee by the previous Club of a Player who has attained the age of 24 years on or before 30th June and whose contract with that Club has expired.

C'mon guys get real !

Are you so naive to still believe in fairies, or should I say 'club loyalty' ?!

I'm afraid those days have long gone along with sportsmanship & all the nice stuff..........

Now let's get on and get suckered by some other schmuck - If somebody could guarantee me a decent cuppa tea at New Lodge next season then my faith will be somewhat restored !! (He said in a cynical voice)
