What Formation would you play?

Urchino

Next season there is a chance i think that the formation could change if you were Sir Mick what Formation would you play and why?

I would Play 4-4-2 the worry for me is with wing backs attacking you leave space for opposition wingers to counter attack.

Lets Have some oppinons.......

Here's one for ya Urchino. I beleive we should continue to play with the wing backs as we played our best football using that. I guess much depends on who else we sign. As it stands though: GK-Kharine(please!!) CB-Joppo, CB-Moore, CB-Marsden/Adedji, Wingbacks-Kimble(although a little slow)Gooding, Midfielders-Gav, Southon, Fox, Strikers-Taff and John/Jones.

You have touched right on my worry is Kimble getting back but saying that if Scott and Jamie get back to help as they managed to last season then that side for me would be up their great.

I really think Barry Fox could surprise alot of people next year including me he has the one thing that i think we lack slightly and that midfield creativity.

Players Player of the year Kevin Marsden deserves to start next season in the team and that dictates that we will play a 3-5-2 because he cannot play in a flat back four.

Very difficult for players from Ryman youth leagues to impress in the Ryman premier

The pace and speed of thought is too big a jump

What will assist is the being formed Conference league for clubs who have developed centers of excellence

Although I do not have the detail the idea of top sides from Conference and feeder leagues (soon to be re-arranged extended Conference) playing their better youngsters against each other on a regular basis will make a difference in bridging the gap

for once I agree with you pabird...there are exceptions though.....Our Youth team goalie has already been into the 1st team (Div 1 excepted) and Kharine thinks he's one of the best prospects he's seen for a long time...whilst understandably remaining cautious...

we also have a youth squad centre back who I believe could well force his way into the periphery of the 1st team squad next season.....

there are also a few others but too soon to call......its not the one off games that 'get' the youngsters at the higher levels...its over a period of a few games...

a good example of that was wealdstone last year.....terrific start with home grown young 'uns but tailed off....always happens.....

now fancy me agreeing with you......I'll never live it down... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Easiest perhaps for keepers with all the movement happening in front of them

For the others it is usually the movement off the ball that seems to get them in the end and in particular in the final quarter of games

For those that have been through the pro-club apprenticeship it is that much easier to adapt

The proposed new Conference league for clubs with centers of excellence really could assist non-league produce (some)players of its own

For club management there are real problems in explaining to fans that boys that look so good in the ressies will struggle and maybe even be have serious damage done to their confidence by being pushed into the premier too early

thats a good point, but to aid there development you need to include them in the squad and give them substitute appearances to see how thay cope.

also boys can learn off of the older players they need to watch and learn.
