Leverstock Green

Recommended Posts

It's a pretty poor show of Leverstock Green to unceremoniously dismiss Mick Vipond in that fashion who has been at Pancake Lane for well over twenty years. When asked he said: "I have no idea why it happened and no idea if there is anybody in line to take my place" which would suggest that the news came like a bolt out of the blue. In the last four seasons Leverstock Green have not finished out of the bottom seven and reached numerous cup finals, hopefully a representative of the Club will come on to explain their actions.

There is no way on earth Mick could possibly have been at Leverstock for the last 20 years. I've played against him in Isthmian football during that time and I know for a fact that he's managed Tring and Hemel since the late 90's.

Read your websites more accurately before pretending to be cognisant.

Vipond, who spent a total of twenty-three years at the Pancake Lane club during two separate spells, was only told of the news on Thursday.

Cerebus - It's not the last twenty years, the article says a total of 23 years during two separate spells at Pancake Lane.

I see that Leverstock Green have recently named their new management team, Colin Jones and Biff Huber, who, according to the article, both have CV's as long as your arm:

Football Man - There doesn't seem to be anything to read into that according to this link:

Dobber - I make you right however even if Kings Langley's players hadn't followed Steve Heath, sheep like, and defected to Pancake Lane I don't think they would have necessarily been a force to be reckoned with in Division 1 this season. My money is on the likes of London Colney, Harpenden Town, Tokyngton Manor and possibly Cockfosters and Holmer Green depending on how determined they are to bounce straight back from their 'criminal' relegation.

PeterPan1 - Surely you don't expect Hadley to get a second successive promotion. As for Hoddesdon Town they are the Tim Henman and Jean van der Velde of non league football, they tend to bottle it around February or March when getting into a good position.

They will need a few players to stengthen what they had last season to achieve that
