Well done to all at Dorking FC, there were some very unhappy faces at Farleigh last week when the lads thought they hadnt done enough, I hope they are all enjoying themselves now.

I didnt think they had a cat in hells chance a month into the season and even at christmas. I was wrong.

Brilliant effort this season and a brilliant finish , winning 3-0 and 4-0 away from home when you dont even know if that will be enough : absolutely top effort.

Commiserations to MVSCR, excellent first season and cruel having led for so long.

Hard luck, Knaphill, but another year to get the club ready for promotion.

Main reason I chose Cove today was that I thought there wasn't a chance in hell! (It wasn't the bacon cheeseburgers honest!). Sorry Farleigh for having no faith (not forgetting they beat MVSCR a while back too).

As TSF says commiserations to both Knaphill and Mole Valley SCR and not forgetting congratulations to Staines Lammas - champions and cup winners!

Thanks The Wife

Thought somebody had forgotten that the Lammas had actually won the League for the second succesive season.

We are proud what we have achieved at the Lammas and we are very disappointed that we are unable to progress however plans are in place to ensure that we are ready to make the step up next season.

Lammas = best team we played this season. Knaphill were good too and I thought Farnham going forward were good too (if they had a decent defence they would be up there).

In our games with Villa we should have won at home and taken something away (but we didn't) - personally thought they were better last season.

Dorking. Not much between us and them. Lost 1-3 at home, we should equalise and they go up other end and nick all three points. Draw at their place, could have gone either way.

Worcester Park - drew both games, we should have won at home. They weren't very good to be honest. Surprised to see them up there (maybe signed a few players after xmas?)

Mole Valley. They beat us twice. Didnt play first game but told our keeper (at the time) gave them two goals. We lost 2-1 at home recently - no idea how we lost. We were the better side. Fortunate pen giving them three points (and us missing an open goal with 2 mins left). frown

I think we picked up 34 points in 2009 (16 games). Now IF we had played like that at the start of the season eh?

I thought Dorking were the best side we faced this season. Am too suprised WP did so well.

Well done Staines - was over at their place yesterday helping out with our reserves and you could tell things were going their way by the screams and howls coming from the clubhouse.

Good luck as well to Hanworth and Dorking. Guess Hartley Wintney must be gutted!

Well having woken up this morning and it really has hit me now how disappointment myself and at all at Knaphill are after yesterday's final day of drama.

Maybe it seemed too simple a task to achieve by going out and beating Farleigh, however they had other ideas and stuck to there game plan by putting 9 men behind the ball but not helped by some poor defending they took there goals well. They certainley were not going to just 'turn up' and be rolled over!

As for promotion and relegation etc, Well done to Staines for retaining the title, just!, Hanworth and Dorking, just! for promotion and according to a C.C.L official at the game yesterday, Cobham, Hartley Wintney and Guildford City will be joining Knaphill in Division One next season. Reason being another team will be entering the Premier possibly Binfield.

On another note Knaphill's manager said yesterday win or lose one of our players little baby girl is fighting for her life in hospital so yesterday's result puts everything into perspective.

Overall it has been good season for Knaphill despite the disappointment in only our second season in senior football and with the ground improvements coming into place over the coming months, hopefully keeping and improving the squad for next season who's knows what's around the corner?.

Well said Trentender !

May I wish the family and the little girl in question all the very best for a speedy recovery.

As you said, it certainly puts everything else into perspective.

PROJECTED PRESS RELEASE.

"Dorking's promotion to the CCL Premier division a year after relegation was confirmed today as Knaphill lost unexpectedly in their final game of the season 3-2 at Farleigh Rovers

With Worcester Park losing midweek to CB Hounslow, Dorking finish in third spot in the division, one point behind champions Staines Lammas and seperated only on goal difference from second placed Hanworth Villa

Such was the tight nature at the top of the division, Dorking finished ahead of long term league leaders Mole Valley Scr on goal difference of one goal, while Knaphill, who could have won the division had they beaten Farleigh, finish in 5th spot after their defeat.

Dorking had beaten Farleigh 3-0 on bank holiday Monday, and Knaphill had been expected to achieve a routine win, but in a performance that does great credit to the league, Farleigh swept into a 2-0 lead. Although pegged back to 2-1, Farleigh then made it 3-1 with 20 mins to go on the break, and although Farleigh conceded with minutes to go, they held on to secure a memorable win."

Not so sure about Binfield comming across. I was over there in the middle of February and there was no sign of a stand anywhere and they needed one by 31st March. According to their website, they are considering installing a 125 seater stand but its not there yet so I can't at this moment in time see them being permitted to come across to the Premier Division.
