Probably not what some may have thought but how long is it usually before we start to see player movement. Also will the current 'financial' problems everywhere mean that players will wait to see what their clubs position is, and intentions are, before making any moves or decisions?

Some clubs are already talking about preseason starting a few weeks earlier than usual.

I like the latter line Ronks.

If you do not have the best players-can you compensate by having the best fitness ,organisation and team ethic as achieved by regularly training together; and getting that early season impetus ?

Question is-will margate have the type of players prepared to put in say an extra 4 training sessions in late June (without pay ) before pre-season starts in earnest in July.

(and indeed will TY and NS want to do it as well )

I don`t know if this is a good idea but if the players we have said yes to early training sessions and they could be held at HDP why not make it an open event and allow the surporters to go . You could have a barbecue there , the bar would be open , trialists would be there hopefully .A bonding session for club and fans with say a

I don't wish to be a kill joy but there is a matter of payment to the players, unless of course they all agree to do it for free, if we are asking them to begin training early.

I would assume that their contracts include some clause/payment for training.

Things aren't always as simple as they seem, even if done for the best of intentions.

If i had the chance to show willing and get myself fit and ready for the season then 4 training matches with no pay would not bother me at all . This may show how willing the players are to play for the blues and how commited they are and as i said a great chance to make money and to get to know the squad .

Main problem with this idea is that teams have players trialling with them pre-season. And managers often like to keep their cards close to their chest. Last thing they would want is fans going on forums on saying 'guess who I saw training with us last night!' Just alerts other teams.
