Hi Guys,

Per the route finder widget on the AA website, on the assumption that another is correct, our travelling would be (one way, in miles)

Bashley - 123.5
Bedford Town - 52.4
Brackley Town - 83.2
Cambridge City - 48.9
Chippenham Town - 122.7
Clevedon Town - 156.9
Didcot Town - 87.8
Evesham United - 143.5
Farnborough - 61.5
Halesowen Town - 129.8
Hednesford Town - 132.3
Hemel Hempstead Town - 25.7
Leamington - 93
Merthyr Tydfil - 193.4
Nuneaton Town - 103.5
Oxford City - 72.1
Rugby Town - 84.8
Stourbridge - 134.4
Swindon Supermarine - 105.6
Tiverton Town - 208.2
Truro City - 309.3
Total 2472.5

Haven't done any other comparison's yet ...

If that's accurate that's nearly 5000 miles return trips in a season.

Yep. Nice local derby against Hemel... only 26 miles away! Apparently Truro City is only a 5 hour drive so there's a good game for Tuesday night (Wednesday morning!)

So do I... It would be nice for me to visit a few new grounds though! Will just have to wait and see what the next week brings...

The whole situation in Steps 3 and 4 is turning into a bag of rats regarding allocation of teams and their travelling distances. Why not split those leagues with too high travel over a certain distance into two equal sections playing each other four times with a home/away play off between the top two of each section for automatic promotion and a mini league between the losers and the two second place teams (with the best record at home each time just like normal play offs) for the second promotion place.

= Cheaper travelling costs, better availablility of players for away games, higher home crowds as more local derbies.

  • 2 weeks later...

This is the latest version on the TK web site - Waltham Abbey now back in the Isthmian Lge in place of Fisher.

On the Lowestoft web site, they say that Lowestoft are in the Isthmian Lge (North) bext season - if that is correct, then I am not at all sure what is happening in the lower divisions, as the other East Anglian clubs are all in the Southern Lge (Soham, Bury and Sudbury).

AFC Hornchurch

Ashford Town (Mx)

Aveley

Billericay Town

Bognor Regis Town

Boreham Wood

Canvey Island

Carshalton Athletic

Cray Wanderers

Dartford

Harrow Borough

Hastings United

Hendon

Horsham

Kingstonian

Maidstone United

Margate

Sutton United

Tonbridge Angels

Tooting & Mitcham United

Waltham Abbey

If the Southampton situation don't get sorted and are relegated to Conference.

Doesn't that bugger everything up?

Someone said the FA leagues committee is meeting next Tuesday.

All should be clear after that.
