O/T Hatton vs. Pacquiao

Yes, I WAS one of the mugs who decided to sit up till 4.40am to watch the fight, only for it to finish at 4.50! Anyway, any thoughts?

Got completely outfought, personally thought it should have been stopped in the first after the second knockdown and, had there not been so much hype surrounding the fight, I think it may well have been. He was far too gung-ho and didn't keep his hands up high enough. I know this has always been Hatton's style, but this wasn't a Mickey Mouse fighter - you have to adapt.

But fair play to Pacquiao, he boxed superbly, and the punch that ended it was as good a punch as you're ever likely to see. He really is a superb fighter, and the prospect of him vs Mayweather will get boxing fans around the globe rubbing their hands with glee.

I know his record still looks impressive (45-2, I think?), and I have the utmost respect for him as a boxer and as a person, but maybe it's time for the Hitman to step aside. He ruled his division for the best part of 4 years I believe, but as the old adage goes: the King is dead, long live the King.

No where for him to go now, retire from the ring, and 4 years make a comback as a heavy weight.

As for Pacquiao i think a money spinner with Manyweather JNR,then retire, with his popularity i think President of The Philipines in 3 years.

think he will/should retire now as for manny p think the fight with mayweather jr is a definate with it going to points and manny p winning a split decision, i always knew since hatton was turned over so easily against mayweather jr that other fighters would see him as a very stoppable half decent 10 stoner dont get me wrong i have loved following his career but the minute hatton steps into the ring with 'world class' opposition he shows that he is a big draw and one of the best boxers we have but against the top eshelongs of the boxing world he dosn't have what it takes, is a shame but reality is he has a very weak chin and its only because he has prevented alot of his opponents getting close to him that he has not been knocked down too many times in his career
