a few interesting points made in todays paper

 

"Some of the players i have brought in are absolutely gobsmacked with the level of support.." i think this is important in order to convince these players they want to stay for years to come

 

"i know there are players out there who i have worked at a higher level who want to be part of what we are trying to do here..." promising that potentially the quality of player is likely to be much better as it has with Sweeney, Sinclair, Kean etc already compared to what we have the majority of the time been used to recently especially in ryman premier relegation year and the 1st year in this league

 

also mentions the defence needs to be tougher which is very clear to see and again a problem we have had for some years

 

promising talk but lets see and hope it comes good and results come consistently next season

Am I right in saying that the only club Steve Bateman has worked at that is at a higher level than Slough is Hemel Hempstead?. Unless Chesham were in the premier division when he was there.

 

If so, these players who want to come to Slough must currently play for Hemel.

But, there could be players that have played for him at the clubs he has managed that have gone on to play at higher levels.

He was also at Chesham in the Southern Prem I believe, plus 'working with' could be at any capacity, ie Bateman could have done some coaching for another club at a higher level.
