In preparation for next season the Club have released the following players:

Tim Cole, Lynvall Duncan, Lee Hodges, Leon Hunter and Tony Tucker.

We would like to wish all of these players good luck for the future, and thank them for their efforts for Billericay Town.

This can be found on the BTFC Website.

IMO, not really surpirsed.

I would like to thank all the players for their efforts but especially Lee Hodges and Leon Hunter. Both players have had the club at heart and as people I shall miss them both.

Leon has been a good servent for the club but, for whatever, reasons has suffered this season.

I wish them all the best for the future.

I'm pleased Paul Shave isn't in that list or Heffer and (especially) Flackie for that fact but who knows what will happen over the close season.

I am not surprised to see Hodge, Cole and Hunter on that list really.

But Big Dunc and Tucker have been brilliant for us this season so am very surprised to see them released. We dont know the details though, they may have better offers from other teams so left on their own accord? Could be an interesting summer/pre season in regards to signings.

I am not too surprised about who has been realeased. We all knew that with Brian bringing Barry with him, it would be very unlikely that Hodgey would have remained with the club.

Tim cole has been injured for most of the season and not really surprised to see Hunter on the list.

I am a bit surprised about Big Dunc and Tucker, they have been quite good players since they arrived, but like Jmez said, there could have been reasons behind it that we won't know about.

Big shame to see Heffer leave though!! He has been a credit to the club and will be missed by everyone. He was a great player, and hopefully will be a great coach one day. Good luck Heffs.

No surprise to see Cole go. Surely a leading contender for the "Paullllll Abbott signing of the year award"

Hodgie going not really a surprise to me. Once Brian and Barry came in it was always going to be difficult for him to stay. Good luck Hodgie!!

I rate Lynvall as a player but it seems there were just too many other issues to keep him. Shame.

Tucker is interesting. A lot of people rate him very highly but other don't rate him at all. I'm somewhere in between myself. I wouldn't be surprised if some one was already lined up for that.

Not surprised about Leon. The last season or so he has been well off the pace and I think a move will benefit us both. He has been a great servant to Billericay though. All the best Leon.

Shame about Heffer. He's obviously decided that he's had enough now. Good luck in the future Heffs.

Any news about BWG. Has he been released as I understood he was only loaned to Dartford?

Best of luck to the players leaving (well the ones who played anyway)

On a personal note I wish Steve Heffer all the best as has been a stalwart for us (and say hello to Jane mate when you see her).

Obvioulsy a lot of changes afoot, but makes it interesting eh !

No real surprises there - would have liked to have kept Big Dunc but the rumours have been doing the rounds that he and the club were some way apart on a deal so it's a pity but there you go.

Also sorry to see Heffs go, he's been the steady eddie at the heart of our season for the last 3 seasons, and the greatest compliment I can pay him is that the likes of Ron Swaine, big Dunc, Alaile etc all produced their best form alongside him with him to talk them through games.

Of the others, Hunter has been here a long time, but he had a poor season and I don't think he offers us what we need in the centre of the park. Hodgie did a sterling job when he came in as assistant and then manager this season, but I don't think he could really stay on as just a player. Cole should probably retire - if he's not willing to put in the hard work to keep himself fit (and stay off the burgers) then he shouldn't continue at this level. Tucker was never the keeper for me, had some excellent games, but had too many bad ones as well.

I wouldn't read too much into the players not on the list of departees - at the moment all we've really done is told those players who we won't be renewing contracts... There are obviously some players still to make decisions, and all those who were on non-contract terms.

A great start to Statham's reign IMO, but then if it was up to me, we would be down to a squad of four at the moment! Good luck to Hodgie, good luck to Heffer and good luck to Hunter, all have shown loyalty and worn the famous Blue jersey with pride.

Early days yet, but some interesting rumours already!

He wasn't contracted, was he? So his future is far from settled.
