Not Margate related, but i thought an interesting article (as you would expect from a journalist cum football club chairman.

 

Maybe it just helps us understand the trials and tribulations of running a footballl club on a shoestring-and that we should very much appreciate those at MFC who are endeavouring to do the same in very difficult circumstances.

Frightening isnt it MM and to think Weymouth hit the same dizzy heights we did and look to be tumbling just as fast as us toward footballing obscurity, but I still hold the faith

I was thinking that too. I doubt we'd get an Arsenal first team, but maybe their reserve team...

Probably not as they would, no doubt, be busy playing Bolton and Fenerbache in some pre-season tournament somewhere.
Another sign of how things have changed. In the past top flight sides would send first teamers to non-league clubs for friendlies, especially when those clubs were struggling to make ends meet. Now they spend the summer in the States or Asia building up their profiles!
