As Roy couldn't make the presentation night I thought he deserved a mention. He is one of the nicest, most genuine guys that I have ever met and whenever he played it was always with loads of passion. It was a great pleasure to sponsor him this season.

 

Also many congratulations to him and Karen on their future wedding.

All the above 100% accurate. I have had Roy play for me at a couple of clubs and he is just the best guy you could meet and when he commits to a club, he properly commits, no half measures. Even in his late 30's he still makes younger players look lethargic and he always energises a side. On his bad days you still know you will get 100% of everything he has on the day and to be honest,at any level of the game, thats all a manager or supporter hopes for from his team. Ive not spoken to him since he signed for Slough but I can imagine that every time he puts on the shirt, his heart swells with pride.

Well the substitution on Tuesday said it all really. Every Slough supporte was clapping the guy when he went off. Normally even in the stand not eveyone claps. His attitude is awesome. Personally i'd be delighted if he was around next season even just for cameo roles, or even help Tony Thompson with the youth side.

Hello to you all.....First of all I apologise for the delay in response to the kind comments you have made....It has been truly much appreciated......I have to admit that I do read the comments that are left by supporters, especially after the games oh how we have played & you certainly tell us how you feel!! I,m not sure who was the person who had left an anonymous note, who must of been a gaffer I had played under, but whoever you are....many thanks for your comments.

 

I would like to first say a massive thanks for everybody for all for the supporters who had signed my wedding card, which was presented to me at the last game of the season....It was a lovely surprise and I,m glad to say that everything went very well and had a lovely honeymoon. I especially want to say a massive thanks to Sue & Aidan not only for your kind comments you had made, but for sponsoring me last season....You are such great supporters of the club.

 

On the football front......We were all bought in and we sat down with the Gaffer and his assistant to discuss what his plans were for next season.....I,m pleased to say that I shall be at STFC next season. To me, it was no secret that there will be changes to personnel next season, and I wasn,t sure as to where I stood.

But I,m glad to be a part of his plans and be ready for the season ahead.

 

I also pointed out that next season will be my last season playing football. I,m delighted to be finishing playing my last season at Slough. I just hope we have a great seson next term and give something back to the fans to shout about.

Great to hear you are staying and that your wedding went off well. You always give 100% and such a great character. look forward to hearing you growl at the opposition and celabrate scoring many goals.

You get some players whose energy and never say die attitude is infectious and must have an impact on those around them. It's good to have players like that in any team. Wilko was one and Gumbsy definitely falls in to that category too. Brilliant news that Roy will be with us next season.
