Beautiful, flowing, attacking football. It ended 4-3 to Juventus, after being 1-0 at half time. Loads of crazy stuff.

Italian football is brilliant. As is Spanish football.

The quicker the English learn that although the Premiership is exciting due it's speed, it is technically poor, the quicker we might become a world force.

Desailly - great in his day but coming to the end of his career.

Hasselbaink - rarely gets into the Dutch team

Gudjohnssen - Would he be an international if we wasnt Icelandic?

Zola - Brilliant, but again, end of hi career.

Babayaro - Doesnt set the world alight.

The list goes on. And at other teams.

 

With the exception of van Nistelroy, Henry and perhaps Vieira, there are very few internationals who are at their peak. They all play in Spain and Italy.

Zola. A one year contract at a pay cut of nearly 50% (THAT'S dedication !) Rumours flying round about his future after that especially as he has a coaching licence now !

I didn't think we did TOO bad last season, considering the Big Man, (K.B.), wouldn't spend any money !

 

More to the point - How can West Ham release so many players ? I don't see how they are going to stand a chance of bouncing back next season.

 

Another rumour round the bridge, is that we are after Joe Cole from U. Park. God knows why !!

Well, as I hear it, Jodi Morris may be on his way to my beleagured - sorry, I meant beloved - Spurs.

 

As well as Viduka, Zamora and Matt Holland.

 

Just like we signed Rivaldo last year!!

 

But the Premiership doesnt attract the truly great players. They all play for Real Madrid, Celta Vigo, Barca, Valencia, Juve, Inter, Roma, Lazio and Milan.

 

Look at Di Canio. He was a nothing in Italy, but he was hailed as a genius over here. Until English clubs learn to play attractive, flowing football, rather than the headless-chicken type romp we have now, we'll always struggle internationally.

 

It's all to do with climate, you know!
