..... this season's over.

2008 - 2009.

12 Enfield Town 42 17 7 18 71 68 +3 58

2007 - 2008.

12 Enfield 42 18 9 15 60 63 -3 63

So, a standstill year with nothing gained, apart from a better goal difference of 6 goals in a league which we were supposed to have done well in. A wasted season IMO and lots to think about in the next few weeks like whether certain players really deserve their shirts, whether we have the right management in place to take this club forward and whether we will get those fans back who have voted with their feet.

Yesterday's game was a typical end of year non event with a possible score line of 6 - 6. Thanks to our keeper for keeping their score down to just 1. A win is a win but I did enjoy the cruise down the Thames.

Anybody notice how well Corby have done in such a short space of time?

So where is RH?

Its not so bad Andy.

We were the fifth highest goal scorers in the league and scored 11 more goals than last season. It was the defence that let us down badly, certainly in the early part of the season.

43 goals conceded in the first 21 matches and only 25 in the remaining games (note Steve Brown came in game 20)

It is that record in the second half of the season that makes it clear that the management team should be given more time.

In that second half we beat Waltham Abbey and Concorde Rangers and drew with ETU. It was our consistency that let us down badly in the second half.

I also think that if WA put up the sort of display they did against us in the first half of the game at their place. Their stay at the higher level will not be very long.

Actually, you didn't beat us in the second half of the season...

Will we stay up on our limited budget ? Who knows BUT at least we have got there. I can think of a few 'local' clubs who would love to be where we are now...
