Aveley and Hornchurch

somewhat ironic today to see Aveley join the Ryman Premier where they will play the Urchins next season.

its ironic because i can remember the 2000/01 season when both clubs were promoted from the old ryman division 3. now not having a pop but how many of the regulars on this board were following the club then?

apparently theres a new regime at the club now and what the internal politics are at hornchurch has feck all to do with me,ive quite enough problems at my club but i would remind people where the club was ten years ago.i wish the urchins well for next season and i hope to get back over there for a few matches.

P.S. all the best for the new regime,the secret of making a small fortune at a non league club is to start with a large one.

In terms of your other comments, although it's important to remember the past and not repeat mistakes, it's also important to look to the future. I hope you can see the irony in telling us to remember the past when the first sentence of your post is about the future of your club.

 

In terms of the political situation here there was a supporters club meeting earlier this week that was a great help to the fans. The feeling seems more positive at the moment. I agree with you, I don't think anyone goes into non-league football to make a profit - or shouldn't do.
