HITCHIN LOSE AFFECTS US(COULD)

My view remains that this needs to be won on the pitch on saturday.

I still can't see how even in the event of a team in another division (team bath, fisher, cammell laird, kings lynn, merythr, will affect the ryman-i can only see that resulting in one less team from those leagues being relegated;and i may be missing something, but i still can;t see how it knocks on to the ryman.

To me-the only way the ryman would be affected; is if something were to happen to one of the existing teams in the ryman-and (apart from ourselves) the seems to be no rumblings of such an event.

Hope i am wrong

If say Fisher were dropped to Ryman 1, then that means to stop one too many teams in Ryman 1, the best placed team in the league above stay where they are. The Team Bath situation is a bit more confusing and a bit difficult to get my head around. It's not definate that who ever finishes 4th from bottom in this league will get a reprieve, but i'll be surprised if they don't, especially with the current state of some clubs.

Whitby can catch us if they beat second placed Ilkeston on Saturday and make up a six goal swing in GD on the day. The good news is Ilkeston will be going for it as they are only two points behind Eastwood going into the final round of games.

MM is right of course we must focus on winning on Saturday and doing all we can do to stay in the Prem on merit, but the way we have been relegated in previous seasons it seems only right that we may be reprieved in a similar way.

I would SPECULATE that 2 might be saved from at least one of the three leagues at our level - I think its highly likely that only the bottom three drop from each.

But the thought of controlling one's own destiny appeals alot more, plus the thought of Rams fans saying we cheated relegation is not ideal. Having said that, I'd take it!

Appreciating that i seem to be in a minority of one; but i can only see this affecting margate if a team in the same league or level as margate-i.e ryman premier(and not already in a relegation position fails-and there is no sign of that.(possibly cammell laird-but they are appealing).Even then, it does not automatically mean the club with best record at level 3 gets a reprieve-the Unibond could just relegate one fewer team-a likely scenario, as it keeps the geography/logistics simpler .

If it is a team in a league above or below-then it simply means that one fewer team in that league gets relegated, and does not knock on to the ryman.

Fisher are already in a relegation spot-so unless they do fold entirely or chose to get a 'two league' demotion)-looking increasingly unlikely-that will also not affect the ryman.

I believe hopes of reprieves are 'false dawns' unfortunately

To add my bit if I may. With all clubs in and around the'drop' zone in all leagues I think we deserve to stay up, in what ever way possible, on merit already.I think that the squad, both in size and experience, has done an outstanding job. The early management and subsequent acquisitions were not to everyones taste and expectations. Results in the first 2/3's of the season have not been great.Even so the lads and 'new' management have never given up resulting in where they, and we, are now.

The most important thing now is to make sure that their efforts to date and the undoubted 'monumental' effort on Saturday is rewarded with more of the fantastic support they receive at away games. The louder the better this week may just carry them over the line to a result that not many think they are capable of.I for one know that they are very capable of the win and, in my opinion, fully deserve it. My prediction for what it's worth is 3-1 to Margate.
