Brian Statham

Brian Statham has been appointed the new manager of Billericay Town. He will meet the squad for the first time at training tomorrow night, and will travel with the team on Saturday's trip to Maidstone United.

Brian brings with him his former assistant at Heybridge Swifts, Barry Lakin. Both have excellent coaching qualifications, and a reputation for high-tempo, passing football.

Hey! A new Regime! Welcome to Brian and Barry & I'm sure this will be the start of a long and succesful tenureship (is that a word?). The Swifts/Ricay Derbies during their reign at Scraley were great events. It will be an interseting close season, watching the team takes shape for the new campaign.

Welcome Brian. A good choice and time now to re-build for next season. We'll all have to be patient until August...But during that time, lets not sit on our laurels and get some people down the club, getting it ready for the new season.

Oh, I won't be down the club tonight to witness the welcome but I'll shake hands on Saturday

Wishing Brian all the best. His name seemed to pop up a lot of times on fans wish lists so lets keep fingers crossed. Good luck to both him and Barry.

And lets not forget Grant and Hodgey for guiding the lads through to safety. Thanks !

Next season "could" be (and i enphasise) could be the weakest Ryman Prem for a number of seasons, no likes of Dons,Chelmos,Dovers (possibly Staines) - So could be very exciting.
