Slough V Gosport

Decent performance actually by all and deserved the win. Amazing what you can do when the pressure if off. The 5-3-2 formation worked well tonight.

A goal for Gumbsy as well, richly deserved as he was awesome and fully deserved his standing ovation when subbed. If we had the players this season with half the attitude of Roy we would be nowhere near the bottom. In fact tonight shows he should have been used more this season in some games.

Have to agree with Chris, we were good for the win tonight, a good all round performance.

Ryan Fenton had a great game, particularly first half, and took his goal very well across the keeper after a one-two with DJ. Robbie Kean had a good game, and Roy Gumbs...well he is just brilliant and well worth his goal despite struggling against the ref in the first half. A very good celebration to go with it as well!

Looking forward to Saturday.

Well done Rebels.

Well said about the Gumbs. Every time we have seen him on the pitch he puts heart and soul into playing for STFC. Yes the celebration was as good as was the goal but if any player deserved to score it was him. Well done Gumbsy.

More on Saturday please.

strange one to access really

neither team really had anything to play for. neither team played really that well. overall slough probably deserved to win but again for periods we struggled to get out of our own half like normal.

Jordan if he stays needs to play centre midfield more than up front. just behind 2 strikers is good for him

Kean was good going forward but slightly dodgy near our own goal. Fermie's passing was inconsistent but his defensive duties were pretty good

the full backs got forward well especially Fenton who got a great goal which he fully deserves easily one of the best players for us this season. Sweeney often got ignored a bit too much

Romeo faded quite a bit but he hasnt played for quite some time looked bright in parts. Gumbs gave great effort like always and who better to get the winner than him.

Edwards a rock again. Evans done well and Smith got on with his job quietly as normal. Jackos kicking was good on a difficult bouncing pitch as well

good to have a positive result and something to be fairly happy about for a change

Have to agree about Roy. I have been saying all season he should be playing either upfront or at the back. His presence is enough to put the opposition off and he always gives 100% plus he is a born and bred Slough man. If anyone is going to give it their all it will be him.

I was also pleased to see luke evans play who again always gives 100% He should have been playing all along and i hope both of above play on saturday.

I'm still baffled why sonny hasn't played as his performances were consistently excellent and he should at least come on as a sub for 20 mins or so to keep him interested.
