Season Presentations - report and interviews .....

Wellsie

Recommended Posts

Despite what is posted on another thread-it seems here that KP does recognise in his speech the very real threat of relegation.

Other thing i picked up is that Joe healey implies that he will be at margate next season-great stuff-is that Lewis,WW, healey,Wheatley and robinson all 'secured' ?

I never heard KP say that at all. He definately said two teams will be safe! Maybe what Wellsie has written was said in another interview, which I am sure Wellsie will clear up.

Yep, just read it again, said in an interview after the presentations, seems strange after saying what he did during the presentations though confused

Agree Alan. Can't understand why he didn't just confirm what he said at the do in the interview. Therefore, having not done so,as MM rightly says & as we all know anyway,we must assume that what WAS said was a bit premature (maybe he realised he was talking too optimistically before such a "big game" & with hindsight felt he needed to tone it down just a little bit prior to Saturday & quite rightly i.m.o.) & that going all out for safety on Saturday is a "must" as it should be anyway. It's our only "guarantee" of avoiding the drop at this time.Do that, win through on Saturday & the rest won't come into it anyway. It's all down to Saturday's match.

Come on the gate
just one more "massive" effort required.

Obviously KP can't give guarantees about our status if we finish in the bottom 4 - and during his speech he didn't do so either. He suggested his expectations were that we'd be OK but clealr that's up to the leagues invovled and the FA ultimately. What we addressed in the interview afterwards was a "what if?"

Wish I had taped the speech now.I took it as an "assurance" Wellsie & I wasn't hearing things.
No of course he can't guarantee anything (i.m.o,) as I mentioned elsewhere lots of things can change before those decisions are made which made it more surprising to hear him say what he did & in such a confident way.
Anyway enough of that now, time to put that aside & to concentrate on the game ahead.

But what would we talk about?

For the sake of clarity, I didn't report what KP said in the presentation for the reasons I gave in my last post. In his interview with me, KP said "if" we go down. I don't see any inconsistency.
