STAINES - NLP

Interesting article in the NLP and it reads as follows:

"Staines Striker Scott Taylor has supported his managers pre-play off tinkering.

The Swans are heading into the Ryman Premier semi finals in their worst form of the season - before yesterdays trip to Heybridge they hadnt won in eight games.

Having already made sure of second place in the league, manager Steve Cordery says he is happy to ring the changes and sacrifice the momentum of a squad used to each other for fresh faces and legs.

Former Tranmere and Blackpool striker Taylor, 32, said "You have to balance things up. We could go in to the semi-final with some good results behind us, but with two big players injured, perhaps onee suspended and the rest shattered. Is it worth the risk? Im not sure, for the play offs you need to have all your BIG players and all of your top performers. Its no use them sitting on the bylines and its always in the back of your mind, especially at this time, you're scared to put in a tackle!

There is also something to be said for those players not being exhausted. Cords is doing the right thing."

IMO reading between the lines they wont risk their play off games for the sake of a "minor" game against a relegation team who will battle to (lets hope) the final whistle, and the chance of their "STAR" players getting injured. However, saturdays result against Heybridge says it all, even with fringe players they came close to beating them - we will need to play out of our skins on saturday and pray results go our way.

Yeah I read that Andy. With whatever team they put out we are still going to need to be "on form" & "going for that vital win". As we know only too well youngsters coming in can show even more desire than those with reputations.

There's also two other games on Saturday Wealdstone v Hastings. Boreham Wood v Dartford. With nothing to play for will both Wealdstone & Dartford experiment?

It's sure gonna be an interesting last day for sure, all round.

If i was a staines fan i wouldnt feel very confident going into the play offs knowing that i hadnt won for at least 8 games.Good performances come after confident victorys and if they do play a weakened side then i hope they lose the play offs it would teach them a lesson. I still think you will stay up though, deservedly so.

As a Dartford fan I'm hoping we beat Boreham Wood and you guys manage a draw or win against Staines. Firstly you are a proper club with proper fans unlike Boreham Wood who barely manage to make attendances of 100 and don't even have a fans forum, secondly, the more Kent derbies we have the better, even if we are miles away. Good luck on Saturday, as for the team we put out, our manager isn't one to reshuffle the squad, not even in recent weeks so we should still have a strong side out there on Saturday.
