Harriers over Harrow - stats and report

We have got to do an AFC Hornchurch bird list of birds seen at the bridge.

The calling tawny owl and the marsh harrier are the two most impressive birds i have seen/heard.

Also had a nice goldcrest 2/3 years ago along with the now regular little egret!!!

We have had little egret, heron, marsh harrier, tawney owl, robin, pied wagtail, feral pigeon, collared dove, blue tit, chaffinch, great tit, herring gull, black headed gull, starling, crow, magpie, goldcrest, house sparrow, swallow, swift, house martin .. can't remember what else we have had. Not to forget our resident foxes - highest count is eleven. Also the badger at the rear of the riverside.

mistle & song thrush,fieldfare,redwing,greenfinch,carrion crow,jackdaw,rook off the top of my head.

There's a sett at the back of the river side.

 

Also add kestrel - did the buzzard near the windmill go over the ground?

it went that way mate,in all possibilites for fly over birds it would be over 100

a red kite was seen heading south along the ingrebourne sunday so we can add that!!!

could be otters along that part of the ingrebourne soon,been the odd report further down the river and on the thames.lus those pesky minx

We had two otters at Waltham Abbey, barn owl and short eared owl at Maidstone (Sittingbourne, massive flock of oystercatchers at Weston-Super-Mare, marsh harrier near to Maidstone last season, buzzards at Bury, pidgeons land on pitch at aston villa with ball whizzing past, jackdaw at Enfield, fox on pitch at Fisher.

After tonight's excitement swore I saw a fondue set, some cuddly toys and curling tongs all on a conveyer belt, or maybe it was the four pints of "Pride" that had something to do with it.

Can't wait for Saturday.
