Can anyone tell me why the fixture

 

ETON MANOR v ENFIELD 1890 whatever (Tuesday 21st April)

 

has been switched and is being played at Wodson Park home of Ware. Waltham Abbey are not at home that week, and surely hire of the facilities to outside companies / Cup Finals etc...come after a official ground share.

 

Surely this can't happen when it could be significant in the eventually result of where the title ends up.

firstly...we are not Enfield Town....wrong forum and completely differnet team Miller ma boy!! Eton Manor have agreed to move the fixture to our ground due to something going on at WAbbey's ground. Eton Manor are ok with this and so are the league (which makes a change). Brimsdown is the home of Enfield Town....Wodson Park is the home of us...Enfield 1893...For 2 more games at least!!

eton manor had a game against us switched to our ground when we was in the esl,i believe it was because tilbury had a game but not sure

Ok Ckock you knew full well what I meant I have edited my orignal post just for you...still stinks to me...so you will be happy for Romford to play their game agaianst Barkingside at Mill Field, as there is no game there that day ...makes a complete mockery of he ESL if they agree to such a significant game being played at Ware FC

why does it matter where the game is played. Both teams involved are away teams as it is not there ground.

Yeah if romford go up the crowds get better in the ryman north, therefore aveley take more money over the bar and get to double my money

i don't think romfords crowds will go up by much,can't see many romfordites who don't already follow the mighty romford making the trip each week to daveley.

And as we found out 2 years ago there is little or no away fans in ryman 1 north

my best mate lost his cousin at hillsborough but what does it have to do with the ESL run in.

I hardly think its fair to compare justice in terms of enfield 1893 playing an away game at "home" with hillsborough

Not comapring it at all, but having spent the past week in Liverpool with friends emotions are high on such a sad day. Then as a footy fan, I hear of the farce of Enfield playing a game at home that should be away makes a farce of the ESL...justice seemed the relevant word to use...look at it from both sides.

None of our fringe players have ever been given to Barkingside, only those that are considered as 3rd choice !

i can see to a certain extent what you are saying regarding justice,just think that to use both in the same sentance is not right.

My own feelings on justice regarding the hillsborough tradegy is that 20 years ago things were very different,i believe that the dead should be respected and an enquiry,which is what the people want would not solve anything,you could not prove much with an enquiry,it is obvious that both the police,stadium officials and fans all played their part,there are probably police,fans who have trouble sleeping at night still because they feel responsible.

Let the dead rest in peace,remember them always but asking for justice or an enquiry 20 years on will not neccessary bring the answers people want.The only good thing to come out of it is that such a disaster will never happen again at a football ground in britain,a small consolation but lessons were learnt
