Supporters representation

One of the Observer people have said that Maidenhead's new Chairman has put one of the MUSA members on his committee. I think this is something all clubs should consider. I'm not sure this is a wind-up but Maidenhead are also talking to the landlords of WP to use it as a training ground !!

Why shouldn't they talk to the landlords? I have passed on contact from the Maidenhead board enquiring about using my Sunday sides pitches as a training area, but they weren't willing to pay that much and the club deemed it not enough to warrant them to use it.

Deaner did also say at his meeting that he should have put an STSA member on the board, or a supporters representative a long time ago, but I can't see that happening. Most supporters who know him well enough don't trust him and don't really want to be associated with him and I think this is the route the club has to take. Might not be the easiest option in terms of our future, but I personally think it is the best option for the long term.

Sorry not the way forward these days !! best to form a supporters trust and eventually gain control of your football club....not just a voice....amongest a board......but the leaders.....with all supporters putting there views in....and electing their own board.

Disagree strongly Chris and I think you'll find supporters of all strongly run and democratic clubs like Maidenhead will too. Unfortunately your experiences at Slough have tarnished your image of all club administrators. At Maidenhead nearly all the board are supporters anyway!!!

I would suggest that this is definately the way forward for Slough, where the football club has been hijacked by people who are not true supporters. The supporters of Slough need to relcaim the club.

At Maidenhead we are in an extremely fortunate position that all the committee (we are a members club so we don't have a board) are all supporters first and officials second.

This obviously begs the question 'why have a supporters representative on the committee if all the committee are supporters?'

I believe that Steve's role will be to ensure that there is more communication between the committee in general and the supporters as a whole.

The nail has well and truly been smacked about the head....

Sod Deaner, and sod the Thornes. Let's get the trust up and running as a success and use it to get the council behind us and Slough Town FC back and playing in Slough with a successful and stable future ahead of it.

Thanks already speaking with supporters direct....cheers..

As for a supporters member on the board...sorry but as members of the Football Supporters Federation which now includes the NFFSC and FSA...will tell you otherwise about a supporters memebr on the board...they only listern to you when they want too...any direct supporters issues never get dealt with or approved...not a Slough point a view but a national organisation including Man Utd supporters Club.

cheers chris
