Good place's to go in Scotland ...

Recommended Posts

... apart from the airport

I'm in Edinburgh on friday night and Glasgow saturday night, my evenings are sortd as I'm at gigs but what about afterwards, any ideas?

BTW I may well have early 90's legend Jimbob with me Saturday and he's 40+, so bear that in mind.

Should be OK Saturday day as I'm staying in the Hilton so I'll just laze by the pool.

It's been 3 years since I last went up, Edinburgh nitelife was the bollox, the festival was on, everywhere was rammed. I'm going in a couple of weeks though Thornsy, so if you spot anywhere decent let us know.

Glasgow I know nothing about.

Who you gonna see?

The best place to be in Glasgow, is about 30 miles away !

Paisley Road West ?? Forget it !!

Give me Dundee or Edinburgh any day !

We went to see Jimbob on both nights (new album reveiwed in NME this week by all accounts)

left the gig at 1am in Edinburgh to find the city deserted (I thought everywhere was open late?!?)

Went to a club in Glasgow called "The Cathouse" which is a kind of indie club.

Stayed in the Hilton, threw up in their sink!

Both good gigs though!

I think the live version of I am the Walrus on the Masterplan was recorded there.

Yeah after I'd said that I read the sleeve notes on The Masterplan and apparently it was recorded at a conference for Sony executives. It says any looseness in Noel's guitar playing is probably down to the half a bottle of Sony financed gin!!

P.S Good to have you back Colin, it's been a bit quiet without you (apart from the 100 plus posts from the dodgy Uncle and his sidekick)
