AFC HORNCHURCH SUPPORTERS CLUB

Recommended Posts

We will be having our first meeting regarding the formation of AFC Hornchurch Supporters club on Thursday 23rd April at 7.30pm

The meeting will be to decide the comittee and any other related ideas regarding the setting up and functioning of the supporters club.

All welcome as we would like all supporters if possible involved from the eastside to the riverside to hasbeens hill to the tea bar etc etc.

Please can you think about this and bring yourself and any ideas you may have to help the supporters club to the meeting

The meeting will take place in the club house, starting at 7.30pm

thanks

rob

(any chance of a sticky for this???)

I think you need to sort out objectives.

Cheaper away travel should be one.

Although not everyone goes away or uses the transport i believe everyone benefits in the long run.

The manager and players appreciate the away support.

I also believe the away support spurred the team to gets results such as Hendon and Staines.

Coaches have been a big talking point for our Supporters Club this season.

One thing that I've been emphasising to our supporters this season is that everyone needs to look to the future. For example, you were able to win the playoffs or go up next season, the journey's you would be making would increase massively. Newport County anybody!?

People will then want to use to coach to avoid the hassle of driving to places like Wales etc. However, unless they get behind the coaches for these shorter trips in the Ryman Prem, who is to say that the coaches would still be running?

They might lose a couple of quid by going on the coach for a Ryman Prem game, but in the grand scheme of things they are helping to support their club, taking the pressure off of them on a match day, and helping to secure coach travel for the future.

no worries.i am in negotiation with my cousin and american matt to do an australian branch and an american branch!!!

Glen,we did stop the coaches for a couple of months this season but hopefully with the formation of a supporters club i expect that if the price is right we will have regular full coaches to most games next season,at least we have the opportunity to get 16,19,29 & 33 seaters should we struggle with numbers

just had an idea, perhasps we could do monthly "player of the month awards"

maybe the winner of a draw from the supporters club memeber could present a monthly award to the player and in return get a home shirt signed by the players, obviously the shirt would be bought by the supporters club but this sort of incentive may get people to join the supporters club, plus the club would be getting money from shirt sales

1 idea is to use the club on quiet nights.

This is not meant to sound negative, but

We've got a darts match when there's football on the Telly and

A Supporters club meeting on St George's Day.

Thursday would be a good night to have a supporters nights.

Not sure if the club will open for Televised matches.

Cup Final in the club would be an idea, perhaps with food available.

the darts match is at canvey not hornchurch.

The supporters club meeting is thursday because lets face it,no one celebrates st georges day,had it been st patricks day,i would of not planned it for that day

The simple fact is that we need to get a meeting up and running before the end of the season otherwise it won't get done till next season. Also i didn't want it on a tuesday/wednesday as there would be football on the tele and some may choose to stay in and watch it instead of attending.

Good meeting last night.

Just a couple of suggestions.

I think everyone is happy with the current committee.

To avoid any future problems with socialisers.

I suggest all new appointments to the committee must be season ticket holders.

Having said that we are a small club and know who the fans are.

I also suggest

I think the supporters club should be for supporters of the football side of the club.

in the old days there was a charge for membership for the social side of the club and you had to pay 50p i think it was to drink in there if you wasn't a member.

Was worth it though because the beer was 20-30p cheaper than in the pubs and this was 16-17 years ago

I think we should have a social membership for the clubhouse once its open other than matchdays and for that membership you are entitled to attend any supporters club event other than comittee meetings and AGMs
