Anyone listening to the commentary on the Dartford website?

I know it's biased but we sound like we're playing terrible!! flame

Interesting to note what the opposition think of our team and fans - Some very valid points.

Final Score: Dartford 4-0 Canvey Island

We only drop a place thanks to our goal difference being less inferior than others.

Heybridge Swifts join Ramsgate in playing Div. 1 football next season.

Sutton almost joined Staines and Tonbridge in the play-offs, but only managed to draw with Carshalton, so that will go down to the wire especially as Hornchurch have a game in hand.

Still at least we're mathmatically safe from relegation now, although we can't reach the Playoffs either.

We weren't that bad in the first half. Massive deflection for their first goal completely against the run of play. A bad day at the office in the second half, penalty killed us off and their 3rd & 4th can only be described as self inflicted.

Their fans, despite being a good bunch, were VERY quite considering they were winning for a huge amount of the match. Strange. And as for their head steward, the less said the better!

Oh well, roll on Saturday smile

I was surprised that it was mostly only the Yellow Army I could hear over the live coverage. The only noise coming from Dartford was for the goals and when they felt the Ref wasn't doing his job.

I wonder, now with nothing much really to play for will we see a few changes to the Starting XI these next two games?

Hello there. As a Dartford fan I can confirm that not only was our first goal against the run of play but that the 4-0 scoreline was definetly not a true reflection of the game's play. You started much brighter than us and could have taken the lead but after our goal you quietened down (on the pitch). Second half i felt we played much better and got you on the break a number of times, but the 4-0 scoreline was flattering although it could have been more.

A side note, the small support you did bring was exceptional in voice, outsinging us in the first half (our fans livened up with the intro of our drummer. Our home support normally is quite quite and has been particularly last couple of games but we're louder on our travels. To be 4-0, still singing and applaud the team of heartily at the end is what real supporters do, and even our own fans were saying that. Good luck to you, and looking forward to playing you next season

Thanks for the comments Superdarts.

We are stumbling rather than sprinting over the finishing line, but every match we play I'm sure lessons are being learned which will help us to push on next season.

I certainly would have taken a 10th, 11th placed finish at the start of the season.

We didn't play that badly yesterday and for much of the first half, we were the better side.

Defensively we were diabolical in the second half and contributed to our own downfall.

Their 11 and 7 had excellent games and gave us plenty of problems.
