Beaconsfield v Slough Town

Recommended Posts

i have to agree we should not get too overly confident about our situation but its going to take a disaster for us to go down now surely

we need to go to Didcot and fight for our lives still as we did yesterday

i think Ryan Fenton is pretty much the unsung hero of the team this season

As previously stated Jacko has made some crucial saves this season but tbh this is what I would expect from any keeper that is between the sticks.

It's which ones make the least mistakes that sorts the wheat from the chaff.

Just saying if we want to make a challenge for promotion next season can we afford to have a keeper with a dodgy back?

The point was this is a thread about BSYCOB v Slough.

The link is to the thoughts of Bateman about BSYCOB v Slough, of which might be of intrest to someone.

Should it be posted on the Taunton thread then RR?

people do have to remember how at times around christmas time that our defence was just short of a disgrace and Jacko did keep us in those games time and time again with little help from the defenders. i think its good that we have quite a few possibles for Player of the Season makes a change from last few seasons

Jacko has been outstanding at times this season and has saved us far more points and certain goals than he has cost us. If a keeper does make a mistake they tend to be far more apparent than mistakes by other players as they lead to goals. A clear cut miss from a striker is rarely criticised to the same level.

Monday was another example of that. Jacko made an excellent save late on - that won us a point. He also won us a point against Bishop Cleeve with an amazing last second save. And they are just two that immediately pop into my head.

The crucial thing is to sort a solid and consistent back four in front of the keeper and that is clearly something that Steve is looking to sort out.

It would be great if we could get Edwards on a season long loan next season. Seems a quality defender.
