Canvey Island 1-0 Ashford Town

Very similar performance to last week, although we managed to get the ball into the back of the net....twice!

 

There were a couple of scares from Ashford but Mel was resolute between the sticks, pulling off some fine stops and managing to hold the really dangerous effort in the final minutes.

 

Ashford's no. 4 was a real threat with the amount of freedom he had, would love to see someone like him playing for us next season.

 

The build up for our goal was amazing and everything just fell into place. It was an inspiring performance and hopefully we'll carry it on today at Dartford.

Good performance especially in defence where both Westy and Chris Moore were outstanding.

 

Had to admit, didn't think our luck was in when Crow missed that penalty but a great goal to win the game.

 

Great play from Gabs and Leon to set up the goal for Dobbo. Antoine had another very good game and gave their defence plenty of problems.

 

Was impressed with their number 4.
