Hale Leys United prior to this season were the Aylesbury Utd reserve team.

If they and Wolverton do join the SSML that's another two public crap park pitches to look forward to.

If will be a shambles if Wolverton Town are allowed to join the SSML. They have been a poor, struggling side for several years now and are trying to get a higher status via the back door and not on merit. If they were to stroll the NBDL as PB Wolverton did, then that's a different story.

Haha if there wasn't a dozen or so teams above them in the NBDL then they would be strolling it.

And it was PB(MK) that dominated that particular league, they briefly joined up with Wolverton before the majority moved across to Padbury, the rest as is said, is history

Good luck to wolverton town...they have been struggling the last couple of years but there a great bunch of young lads who have grown up together & enjoy a kick about...win or lose..there's a big change down there & things could b lookin up for them..alot of money is bein invested & wiv their own ground bein built aswell as a club house why shouldn't they be in the ssml..good luck to any team tryin to improve...

Ref of ref to be fair thats where Padbury were playing last season on a crap pitch. I believe Hale Leys were looking for something better then where they are currently.

Nice to see that Wolverton Town have seen sense and withdrawn their application. Hope they can get their act together and gain status on merit.

Hale Leys must have something planned because their facilities are just not good enough at present for a serious league like the SSML.

I think when you get Club's such as Hale Leys United apply for Step 7 status it makes a bit of a mockery of the Pyramid system, however fortunately the SSML hierarchy are no fools and instinctively know when to knock back a request for membership. [Rest of post removed]

Wolverton have not withdrawn their application but it seems the south mids prefer Hale leys with their shared chaging rooms and Park Pitch. Speaking to the people at Wolverton it will be case of when Wolverton will be in the south mids rather than if. They have a long term plan for the club. They now have their own ground with clubhouse. 3 football pitches and 6 dressing rooms. Yes the site needs some work but once all the work is complete they have the vision to make the club great again. After being at Wolverton in the 80's when they were in the Vauxhall Opel league Divsion One which is now the Rymans I think it is great that the people of Wolverton are coming together to support the club in their quest to raise the phoenix from the flames. Good luck to them I say.

I will always remember Wolverton beating Tamworth in the F.A Cup in a 2nd replay in front of over a 1000 people and also playing Stafford Rangers twice in the same competition

New Bradwell - You may have already seen this link but it mentions the Stafford Rangers game you refer to at Wolverton Park which apparently Stan Collymore played in:

I think you are in for a shock then Rhodes - you obviously haven't read the latest SSML Management Committee minutes - but then you don't get them, do you?

Teams interested, right from the horses mouth

12.4. An application had been received from Chesham United Reserves to join the competition in Division One for the new season.

12.5. Tokyngton Manor, whose playing membership was suspended for one season following problems at their former ground, indicated they were in early talks with an alternative venue re a possible ground share for Season 2011-2012.

12.6. Ground inspections had been carried out at three clubs who had applied for membership of the competition. A lengthy discussion took place on the merits of the applicants, based on the inspectors’ reports. It was felt that Wolverton Town had a number of matters which required attention and that MK City, whilst an FA Standard Chartered Club, had only experience of running youth sides in serious competitions. Hale Leys (North Bucks League) are based in Aylesbury and impressed the inspectors both with the standard of their facilities and the positive attitude of their committee towards the improvements required for Step 7 football. The committee decided to recommend the club’s acceptance into the competition next season.

12.7. Enquiries for membership were received from a newly formed Codicote & Knebworth club, Markyate & the Froth and Elbow; Milton Keynes College; Stopsley Common and West End FC.
