I think the Fan's have to step up to the mark for this game and turn it on for the lad's.

 

No doubt some of the fan's (Upda for one) will be trying to resurrect the Shoe Army.

Billericay win 2-0.

 

After as poor a first half performance as I have seen this season,everything changed in the second half. Wareham replaced Hodges and Burbridge replaced Hunter with Shave moving back to mid field. Both goals were headed in by Shave from pin point corners by Okojie.

I agree first half was scrappy, but still thought we looked the better side.

 

The substitutions made a big difference and I thought we were well on top after that. Definitely deserved the win with two headed goals from Shavesinhio.

 

It'll be interesting to see how we approach our final two games now.

 

PS - A certain Tonbridge centre-half picked up another red today - must have been someone else's fault!

The first half was quite possibly the worst 45 minutes of football I have seen for many a year....and that is up against some pretty stiff competition! Some bloke standing near me was looking through the programme to see if there was a crossword he could do he was that bored

 

However, we were much better in the 2nd half and completely over powered a very weak Heybridge team. What a shame we couldnt get Shavesy a hat trick.

 

Looking forward to Saturday now and I'm hoping we turn on the syle for our last home game of what has been quite a testing season.

It was a dire first half but I will agree with JL, over the 90, we were the better side. The second half was better, with the two subs making an impact.

 

Still, we're now safe and can look forward to a fairly relaxed last two games, I suppose (altho not too relaxed, please guys - lets go onto win them).

 

Only two more games to go and then we can re group and build for next season, which, in my opinion, will be a different prospect with clubs looking to prudence.

 

Despite what Upda thinks, I and others (I believe) will be glad for the rest, to freshen up and get ready for the new season. And of course, it won't be too long before some of us are down the club, armed with our paint brashes and other D.I.Y. impliments to complete some needed work on the clubs fixtures and fittings...Volunteers, please contact either myself or (better still) Mick Nixon.

Interesting first half indeed..moving swiftly onto the second and much more uptempo. Thought bringing Wareham on made a big difference as that upped the pace. Two goals from Shavesy ! Oh how we wanted him to get that third. There may have been a pitch invasion

 

But to me the funniest part was when the Heybridge player lobbed the ball...it bounced out the ground...Que "That's why your going down"....One minute later (cannot remember who) our player give the ball a John Smith "Ave it" out the ground...Que, "That's why we're staying up"

Agree with a lot of the above. Awful first half, but much better in the second. The substitutions made a big difference and we could have had more goals.
