Windsor merger ?

Baby-faced asassin

Recommended Posts

Theres a rumour doing the rounds of a possible merger of

windsor with B.G. Also that the B.G chairman was taking up a

position at windsor. I thought there were rules about someone

being on the board of two clubs at the same time or is that

where the merger comes in.

The benefits would be the money but what about it.

would it be a good thing ?

Not commenting on the merger / director thing as far as Windsor and BG are concerned but I understand that you can be on the board of more than one club providing there is no conflict of interest.

In the position that WEFC and BGFC are in at the moment then as far as the leagues go then there is no conflict, but if they were to get drawn against us in the FA Cup t hen there would be. But if they come up in to the Southern League then there would obviously be a problem.

As for the financial benefit, I am not sure how Windsor would benefit from a merger. No offence to BGFC as they are a very nice bunch of people, but they get very few through the gates for their games so the number of extra supporters would not be huge.

I would be very surprised if there were to be a merger considering all the work they have been putting into there ground.

Both Chairmen have dismissed this as nonsense. They are working on a project together to improve the facilities at Windsor using the BG Chairman's experience and expertise in these matters. Obviously the plans are commercially and planning sensitive and nothing is certain but I
