Dear Supporter,

Re: Slough Town Football Club

Thank you for your recent letter/e-mail to Councillor Anderson, in support of Slough Town Football Club and the need for a ground in Slough to be found.

As you will be aware, there is a great deal of pressure on land in Slough and many restrictions, such as ‘Green Belt’ issues on the future use.

In addition, there are many requests for use of any land that does become available. These requests range from housing, a Faith School and of course Slough Town Football Club.

At present Council officers are looking at options to see if there is a way forward that can satisfy all requirements. However this may not be possible and in the end a decision will need to be taken that offers ‘Best Value’ for the Town.

We are not at this point yet, and we are still trying to see if an agreement can be reached with the current owners of the stadium as well as looking at plans to maximise use of the land adjacent to the stadium.

Councillors will be considering all the issues relating to the piece of land adjacent to the current stadium during June and I will ensure the views of supporters of Slough Town Football Club are made clear at these meetings.

Yours sincerely,

Jon Davies

Head of Leisure and Resources

Well if only 30 have been received that's, excuse the language, p*ss poor as 10% of them have come from my household alone.

The Council will not take the future of Slough Town seriously if they think there's only 30 of us that care. Anyone who hasn't already done so....GET WRITING!

Chris,

I live outside the Slough Borough area but used to work in the town. I have written to SBC reminding them of their responsibility to the community to foster and promote community sport, ie football, within the boundries of Slough.

Sorry, won't be able to make the demonstration in June but hope and pray it goes well. Demonstrators must show they have a reasoned and well-thoughtout argument and must also behave in a resposible manner.

Good luck with the vigils and the meetings. Unfortunately I wont be able to attend as were're moving to Somerset next Thursday but will still follow developments closely.

Good luck and hope to get to some games next season !

I've had my reply too. Wondered why it was very general. Still, at least someone's taken the time to read it and acknowledge it.

I notice that the Slough supporters are scattered around the country. Any chance of letting the Council know how widely spread the support for Slough Town is?

I live in Birmingham, and come down regularly for matches.
