Attitude to Man Utd

Watching the Utd game last night in the Legion one of the Man Utd supporters complained that it was disgusting that other people in the club were cheering when Porto equalised near the end and that we should always support an English club in Europe when they are paying a foreign team.

He did not appreciate the reply back that people wanted to see Man Utd taken down a peg or two because of their arrogance and the remark that Ferguson is a complete peasant for chewing gum throughout the after match interview on ITV

Should English teams have the support of all English football supporters whatever their normal allegiance????

Personally I couldn't care less about the European Championship or whatever it's called - it is of absolutely no interest to me at all.

Sorry, the above post is not quite correct. Could never support L*ton (sorry Broadstairs Dave) not that there'll ever be a chance that they'd get to Europe although they'll get quite close next year when they play Ebbsfleet. Seem to recall they did get to Europe once via the league cup but then EUFA enforced the ban on English clubs and they missed out LMAO!

Mind you, the way things are going you might have a situation where you have an English club, owned by foreigners with foreign players, playing a foreign club, owned by an English person and featuring English players.

Then who would you support?

I know it's daft but by today's standards not impossible.

Drummer has got it absolutely right and I would support a foreign team with an English manager and English players.I feel no connection whatever with a French team like Arsenal and would never support them anywhere.

Apart from anything else, the Man Utd performance was woeful - why would anyone but a Man Utd fan cheer that?

It might be a bit easier if Ferguson came out after the odd match and said 'I got it wrong', 'We were rubbish', or even 'We were lucky to have the extra 13 minutes injury time in which to equalise'.

Or even, 'Upon reflection, I feel my comments that the FA / Premier League / referees have it in for us were unjust, and unreservedly apologise'.

It was indeed woeful - I know, was in Row 17 of the South Stand!

Probably the worse performance I have seen at Old Trafford in all the years I have been going.........

Thank for that, would you like me to convey those sentiments to Mick Harford. We are also looking for a volunteer to shave his head as promised for winning at wembley last sunday, perhaps you would step up to the plate. Mick said he would not like to be the person that tried it but he was smiling at the time. If its going to be conference next year then it will just be a procession behind Luton Town and unfortunately devalue that league as a competion thanks Lord Mawhinney. I await the Southampton verdict with more than a passing interest. I wonder if he has ever been an events manager for Shepherds Neame?
Seem to have digressed.. has Watford won anything this year?

Taxi.

Up the Hatters and up the Gate.
