Jade's funeral - part two

I thought we had closed the debate but then, f*ck me.... Saturday morning hours of it live on Sky (just what am I paying my subscription for). It was like a bloody state funeral. Even real heroes like Booby Moore and even some of our war dead did not get this. To make it worse I understand there was a twelve page pull out in the Sun yesterday. I bet that will be worth three and tuppence on the Antiques Road Show in a few years time. It sets a very dangerous precedent for deaths to come. I only hope Jordan lives to a ripe old age!!!!!!

 

At the risk of going over old ground the facts are these:

 

- I feel as sorry as the next bloke for Jade and her family (i.e. young woman dies of horrible illness and leave two young sons)

 

However

 

- To me she is no different to any a.n.other who is struck down the same way. She is not a special person

 

- She went on a bottom of the barrel TV show which she didn't even win

- She went on it again as a so called celeb and got into a race row.

- She had now particular talent to qualify her as professional.

 

Yet we have a national day of morning of such magnitude. This is not having a go at her but having a go at the system that allows it to happen. I repeat...a dangerous precedent has been set.

Whilst you continue to pay your sky subsription and buy the sun etc. you will continue to get dumb down brain dead "events" like this.

 

Anyone who enjoys this so called celebrity culture needs to get a life themselves, rather than be feed other peoples lives by the lazy media who are unable to get a real story.

Parky hits out at 'ignorant and puerile' Jade

 

Sir Michael Parkinson has launched a tirade against Jade Goody.

 

The veteran broadcaster told the latest issue of Radio Times that the late reality TV star represented "all that is paltry and wretched about Britain."

 

He said: "Jade Goody has her own place in the history of television and, while it's significant, it's nothing to be proud of. Her death is as sad as the death of any young person, but it's not the passing of a martyr or a saint or, God help us, Princess Di.

 

"When we clear the media smoke screen from around her death, what we're left with is a woman who came to represent all that's paltry and wretched about Britain today.

 

"She was brought up on a sink estate, as a child came to know drugs and crime, was barely educated, ignorant and puerile. Then she was projected to celebrity by Big Brother and became a media chattel to be exploited til the day she died."

 

His comments come just days after Jade Goody was laid to rest following a funeral that drew comparisons with that of Princess Diana. Thousands of mourners lined the streets and threw flowers as the hearse made its way to the service in Buckhurst on Saturday.

1)I pay my sky money for the sport
2) I dont read the sun just happend to see the headline on a copy left on the train (although I did have a quick glimpse at the third page)
