'Ricay v. Tonbridge on Tuesday

Recommended Posts

If my maths is correct a win would guarantee Angels their play-off place.

Their "goals for" is second only to Dover, so it will be another good test for our defence.

Presumably Burbs is available, and maybe Wareham so a few more options.

And as i read elsewhere a win insures we are safe in this league so both teams will be out for a win.

Fingers crossed for a half decent ref.

Looking forward to tonight. Tonbridge are the obvious favourites to win, but we've had a good 7 days and can attack the game with confidence.

Following last seasons eventful game against them at New Lodge it will be interesting to see if Tonbridge are still the angry young men (and that was just the bench!) that they were last year!

Yeah - seconded.

Games against Tonbridge always seem to produce a err...shall we say incidents, arguments, banter, ice skating/falling over, (and that is just the Tonbridge bench) smile

It should be a good game and looking forward to it.

Haha- this is why you cannot beat non league banter. Seeing as they have pinched a few quotes from our messageboard, here is a imo a jovial piece of banter from theirs...I particularly like paragragh 3 grin

"Yes folks it's that time of year again as we make our annual (bi-annual?) trip to Blunts Wall Road (I'll avoid the obvious rhyming slang gag here - see below) to visit the circus that is Billericay Town FC."

"Our previous visits to New Lodge, a ground we have still to win at, suggest that we will once again take home a little less from the game than we perhaps deserve. On our last visit us fans had earned the spectacle of a match just for turning up but were sent packing at 1.45pm, and our previous trip saw us throw away a 2-0 lead having controlled the game and then missed a vital chance to put the game out of sight."

"Virgin visitors to New Lodge can expect the following: A decent Ryman Premier non-league ground with potential for excellent behind-the-goal acousitcs, one of the best bars in the league with Jeff Stelling on the projector screen (well it's midweek, we might even see some Champions League on it) and the cry of "handball" approximately once every 45 seconds from the home faithful as soon as the ball goes within a 20 yard radius of Lee Worgan."

"No doubt the referee will make some 'interesting' decisions against both sides and we will once again be treated to the usual one-eyed brainfarts from the likes of GazzaBTFC and co. on their forum about our "diving thugs" and one or more hilarious jokes about our angelic name."

"If we win, it will surely be the most satisfying of the season (but only for a few weeks I hope) - but I'll play cautious and go with 1-1."

they seem to think that Gazza is our ring leader lol

Can we inform them that it's Nigel who leads us?

and from his position he can see every hand ball.

Bring them on and let's get behind the blues tonight.

You can demand all you like gezzer. as long as we get goals stuck in the Tonbridge net will do for me.

I was taking Mrs BB out tonight for our 19th anniversary a meal and some light entertainment. (a burger at Billericay Town FC it is then).

No, no, no BB...

I will be as behaved as I usually am, standing next to the away bench.

Jl has made a new resolution not to engage the ref in any abuse and by that, it looks as if he has made that my MO as well.

I hope to engage the away bench with the usual niceties of the evening..."hello", "good evening", "oooooo, that looked a tab over the top" and "why, your players must be tired. They spend a hell of a lot of time on the ground. Do you keep them out late?"

The usual stuff that the we engage the away bench in.

Haha loved the vid.

Pressure Ryan? Pah ! These modern day terraces are a cauldrom of pressure...

I blame it on the intesitivity of the modern day burgers...And talking of which i dont wanna have any ungamely smells wafting my way from anyones lower tethers tonight chaps, as that could cause a code 10 incident grin

Quote:
If only Legge had gone down when he was clearly fouled in the build up to the challenge he was then sent off for, referees seem to need to see the theatrics these days to be able to give a free kick. Unbelievable decision from a referee who had no other big decisions for the entire game and Legge now misses the play-offs after picking up his third red card of the season.

A quote from the Tonbridge forum...Quite amusing that he refers to "theatrics"...

...Rose tinted glasses are a essential when Tonbridge supporters are born, obviously
