Painfull it might be but can someone give an account of todays game. Chris 1 used to give excellent ones. It might help--sort of!!

Well I will try Geoff but I am no scribe so forgive me.

 

We started in the right frame of mind and after 3 minutes Kenny scored thanks to an error by Richard Wilmott. We then threatened a few more time and Harrow had a couple of chances but after 20 (or so) minutes Kieron made a last ditch tackle on the edge of the boxbut, got a bit to much of the man and received a straight Red ( I do not think it was a 2nd Yellow. We then replaced Dan Stubbs with Danny Young to shore up the defence and moved Ryan back a bit. Kenny had 2 glourious chances before the break but, the first hit his knee and rolled out and, the second he somehow concieved to aim at me rather than the goal. Anyway just befor half time the ball hit Luke Wheatley in the chest and before we knew it it was 0-2.

 

At half time we heard that most of the results that mattered were going our way and we all felt confident about not only hanging on but actually getting another goal.

 

However, after 3 minutes we gave away one of those stupid free kicks outside the box and the Harrow #9 took a glourious free kick that hit the post and rebounded to thier # 3. 1-2.

 

3 minutes latter a totaly inocuous ball was sent into the Margate box whih hit Mullin on the chest and went in 2-2.

 

Some time later ( I had given up looking at my watch by now) and after total domination by Harrow there was another cross which Mullin somehow let got through his hands 3-2.

 

The Harrow then just camped in our half and were unlucky (or took sympathy on us) not to score another 3 or 4.

 

Total depression BUT, on to Heybridge next Saturday and 3 points and another 3 on Bank Holiday Monday.

Not much to add to that, except it was a second yellow for Morris- the first was a couple of minutes earlier when he booted the ball over the stand after the ref blew up. Will write more tomorrow when back home, although there should be something on the official site and a somewhat home-biased report in the NLP.

Last man foul and it looked like the ref produced a straight red card to me.

As JJ has inferred is was a game of two halves, we started brightly with the same team that beat

Great report. Nothing at all to add to that. I did my last comment from the pub last night. Thinking about it, Joseba/Porka/Peter must be right: yellow then red. Sorry for misleading people (and calling Joseba a liar!).

 

Is a straight red a different punishment from two yellows?

2 yellows = 1 match ban

Depends, straight red for a professional foul is a one match ban I believe

The performance in general was an absolute disgrace all round,

letting a two goal lead slip in that way.

The whole team should be ashamed of themselves,they are undoing

all the good training being given by the manager and coach.

Also costing Margate its support and the directors a lot of

money.

Shedender your the one who should be ashamed of yourself for remarks like that. How the f--k do you know what training is given this team is playing for next to nothing week in week out and frankly don't need your sort of support. Do you think these players are not suffering from yesterdays performance and that they don't give their all everytime they put on a shirt. The players need support and confidence right now not slating. Its supporters like you Cookie and all the others who think they could do better that distroy these lads who are doing their best in trying condition.
