I feel robbed!

 

Canvey as a whole played really well today. We did everything but score!

 

Carshalton scored on their forth attempt on goal all game after a quick break from the right resulted in the ball being knocked passed Mooro and Jolly beat him for pace and placed it past Ricky in goal - The only negative aspect of the game, but it's the one that counts.

 

Our build-up play down both sides of the pitch was fantastic and the Leons together up front worked really well as a unit, a few more games with that pairing and they will be on fire.

 

No Crow, no Curran and no offence to them but we didn't look like we missed them. Unfortunate Ainsley had to come off injured, we had some great width with he and Fanibuyan on the wings.

 

New boy Everett looked comfortable at the back and all the Defenders battled hard. Only concern was at times we had a massive hole in central midfield.

 

Carshalton's no. 4 was excellent though and if he hadn't been so commited and in the right place at the right time, Canvey may have got on the scoresheet themselves.

 

I noticed also that Carshalton's style of play and team line-up was very similar to ours, probably why the game was so close at times.

 

Today was an encouraging performance as we look to build for next season. Four games left and if we play like we did today during those games, we'll definately pick up points along the way.

Thought we played ok today and didn't deserve to lose.

 

Everett did have a good game but got beaten by Jolly for the only goal.

 

Antoine and Gordon linked up very well. Gordon was superb up front. Worked really hard and certainly deserved a goal.

 

Thought Dobbo and Rich Halle were good in midfield. Both were very combative and put themselves about well.

all comes down to taking chances first half very missed some easy ones and in the second half leon gordon should be scoring one on ones like that, we played ok but if you dont score you wont win they had 2/3 chances and scored we had chances and didnt even make there goalkeeper make a save
