Southend Manor 3-1 Romford

Recommended Posts

Thoroughly deserved win for Southend Manor too.

I'm sure other people will fill the forum in on the details. But 2-0 at half time, Southend Manor then extended their lead before a Romford consolation late on.

We won 3-1 and comfortably so....but I must say the Referee was shockingly bad.

He was very ignorent and rude towards both sets of players...fortunatley for us, The Manor boys recognised this and were more disciplined towards him whilst the Romford boys kept chipping away and swearing at him.

In turn I think that saw Manor awarded alot of 50/50 decisions.

He was poor though lads, I agree on that. Never seen him before

It became a vicious circle though.

As the frustration began to boil over to berating the ref, then onwards to outright abuse and "cheat" chants, everyone else watching could clearly see that he was more and more inclined to give more and more 50/50 decisions Southend Manor's way.

I'm absolutely certain that had the abuse been moderated or cut out Romford would have been given an awful lot more decisions.

I thought a referee was supposed to remain impartial. Both sets of players remarked that the referee was very rude and arrogant. I'm all for the respect campaign but it has to work both ways and if as you both suggest he gave decisions a particular way based on comments from the crowd or one st of players that's no better surely.

Read properly you angst-ridden little [****!!****] cvnt.. Nobody blamed the referee for our defeat. Manor deservedly won and ask JJ about the applause that was afforded his team after the final whistle.

Beaten by better side, but the little cvnt in black deseves to sh!t on from a great height..I hope he had a restless night.

He was awful mate. We had a couple chalked off too - rightly or wrongly doesn't change things I know. Doesn't detract from the fact that Manor were deserving winners. Same for both teams and Captain JJ and co mastered the conditions better. Just a bad day at the office and let's hope we can get it out of our system and get back on track this Tuesday..

TBH I can't show enough contempt for the ref we had yesterday! There is not an expletive to describe how I felt about him and god knows I tried every combination of them yesterday, and I was not satisfied with any of them!

I want to put him head first through an old fashion mangle whilst 6 people with IBS sh!t on him as he comes out the other side!!!!!

From a neutral perspective, though, it made it much more entertaining to see and hear the outrage. Doesn't help you, I know, but at least you contributed to a fun afternoon - for some anyway!

I know it wasn't funny for you guys, and we've all been there, when we're not playing well, the opposition are, we're being beaten and the ref's totally against us.

If, however, you took a step back from the line of Romford supporters down the side of the pitch and observe the reactions, you couldn't help but laugh. It was like Prime Minister's Questions with lager.

That said, the ref was incredibly rude to both teams, shouting and bawling at both teams the whole time. As somebody alluded to earlier the 'Respect' campaign has to work both ways. Though I can't substantiate it, I became suspicious that as a direct result of the crowd abuse his 50/50 decisions were not made with much impartiality during the second half.

Anyway, Romford move on. The target is still the same. 8 more points and it's all irrelevant.

I remember having this conversation with the Rumfordians a few seasons back after we played them first game of the season and I was told the ref was bad but not 'bias' and that my comments that he was a cheating c**t was out of order!!!!

I remember you were very lucky that day to get a draw against us and two of his decisions led to goals for you!
