Billericay 2 Ashford 0.

Recommended Posts

After a scrappy first half,we took the lead following a short corner between Lee Hodges and Ide Okojie resulting in Lee crossing on to the head of Joe Flack. Their goalie got a hand to it but it still rolled into the net. Our second goal came towards the end as Ide Okjie cut in and hit a shot to the far corner which the goalie should have saved but it rolled over his outstretched hands. Ide was in my opinion our best player and fills the gap left by Bradley. Nikki Beale also looks a good player. I understand Adrian Deane has disappeared again! Ollie Allen was not even on the bench. Has he gone too? What a queer season for comings and goings. I await the views of the experts later in the day. Come on you Blues.

Vital result for us. Wasn't the greatest game to watch, but I thought we showed more attacking intent than Ashford who seemed to be playing for the 0-0 until we scored. Looked a lot more solid at the back, Hunter had a much better game in centre mid. Obviously short on options up front, but Burbs is back tues which will help. We're almost safe now, so can afford to relax a little which will help our play - we were very tense today.

It wasn't a question of playing for the 0-0... we don't know how to do that!

Our problem is that our forwards seem to have forgotton how to score. We've played 13 matches in 30 days and we're suffering from it, but the better side won today. We're missing a lot of players, but it is what it is and if we're going to stay up, it'll be because we earned it!

A critical three points which puts us on the brink of safety so hopefully we can relax a bit now.

The first half was "not great". I think both sides were feeling the heat of the situation - although we did produce one fine move which Shavesie headed narrowly wide.

I thought we asserted in the second half, had the lions share of the possession and chances and overall the win was the right result.

It was a relief to see clipboardman II have more success than the clipboardman of a couple of seasons ago!!

One more win would make us completely safe. Tuesday will be a tough game but hopefully we'll seal the deal then and have some fun for the last few games.

Come on you Blues!!

Nice to see the smiles back on the players face's yesterday and i for one was chuffed with the way the lad's played.

The Ref was a joke but at least he was consistent in giving us a hard time.

I hear that Paul Shave is up for the Ryman Fair Play Award?

Well done one and all.

Possibly (in our current plight) the most important 3 points of the season thus far. Certainly not a spectacle but cannot fault the work rate produced out there. Sometimes you need the luck and i think both goals had that tinge about them. Not the build up play in any way, but both the header and the shot on another day would have been bread n butter for a keeper (imo), but like i said in football sometimes we all need that bit of luck and perhaps Saturday the lady looked kindly to us.

I would sum the game up as a superb piece of workmanship by the team.

Now did anyone notice it was a total misprint that Tonbridge hit 5 Saturday, and who do we have next !!! eek Hell, i am looking forward to it already ! I think we could see a much more open attacking game from both sides.

Final word to the 5 Ashford fans. I thought they were brill !
