Margate Football Club attempted to sign Ben Lewis from Maidstone United before the transfer deadline on Tuesday. Unfortunately his registration was not released by Maidstone in time for the deadline. The Club, the League and the PFA are all working towards a resolution of this issue.

The Club is delighted to be able to confirm that both Curtis Robinson and Luke Wheatley have signed with us for this Season and next.

Up the Gate!

The initial post was all very well, but the Club are still selective about telling us about signings.

After he made an appearance as a sub Jurgen Wild was included on the squad notes by SteveB, but I don't think he's been seen since (the signing for his appearance on the bench was unannounced too).

Likewise they tell us they tried to sign Ben Lewis, but didn't mention Rob Lamore or the 'keeper Wright who were both on the bench at Harrow.

Do they think we're not interested in knowing these things?

Totally agree with you Peter-especially re:Lamore.

i did think that maybe the clubs policy is only to 'report' on contracted players as opposed to registered player-but it seems news on Lamore was in the Iof T gazette ;so surely it could be 'officially' announced aswell-even just to say he is on trial

Does any one actually know anything about Lamore- ?

(who is rowlands who was on the bench against Maidstone ? )

i think its a disgrace the way the team are been treated after one terrible game in however many.

we have been performing superbly lately and over achieving in games that all the "supporters" on here thought we would lose like canvey and maidstone. and the run of 3 games where pat single handedly saved us in those games have quickly seemed to be forgotten because of one bad performance!

i think if you support margate you should SUPPORT them but if you just follow them and dont have the decency to go to away games you have right to voice your horrid opinions!

Not so.As you say he was superb in those games & I agree on that & no its not been forgotten & had mentioned that elsewhere but I was talking of Saturdays game only.
Without the footage to fall back on from Saturday my comments about that game couldn't & wouldn't have been made but the footage WAS there & we can all see that his errors contributed to our downfall on the day.
Maybe next week he will return to the form of before & if so he will once again get my praise if that occurs. It works both ways you know.No-one has backed his corner more than I have recently thank you very much.

We have got to keep pulling in the same direction, lets keep ALL criticism away until our fate is known. We will have a few months then to chew over the season.

As far as the notification of new players goes I have been banging on all season how the "Official Club website" rarely has an "official" announcement, for one I have given up on expecting it, I do not agree that the press should have it first, they should report on what they see on the site.

Anyway onwards and upwards 2 crucial games coming up!!!
